Recognizing Opportunity: Cat’s Angel Message for January 13, 2020

January’s Theme: Stay focused on your desires and not your fears or past happenings. Our thoughts are ready to manifest into reality so stay focused on where you want to go instead of where you’ve been.

Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don’t recognize them. – Ann Landers

113:  Our message today is about blessings in disguise. They come in all forms including obstacles that can pop anywhere and at any time. The Universe wants us to remember that looks can be deceiving and that the key to dealing with these “blessings in disguise”  lies in our ability to adapt to the changes they bring. Remember that every obstacle (even those pesky blessings in disguise) brings a lesson or a series of lessons with it.  Some are life lessons and some are karmic lessons. Either way, change is always an important component that can bring new opportunities and personal growth if we are willing to adapt and work with it and not fight against it. Shine the light of perspective on the situation and look for that “one good thing” to help you get started. Going with the flow and learning to adapt will be your greatest asset now. Our spiritual helpers are here to guide and assist us so ask for help if you need it.

Archangel Jophiel the angel of Illumination and wisdom, fills us with beautiful, loving thoughts and uplifting energy which helps us to create a fresh approach to life. Jophiel tells us that goodness and beauty surround us all the time. By keeping ourselves open to receiving these blessings it draws the things we need directly to us. This is a reminder that slowing down activates our creative mind and makes these things easier to visualize and grasp and by taking the time to “smell the roses” the attitude of gratitude flows more easily.

The Ascended Master Solomon helps us to take what we are given and make the most of it. He teaches us how to do things more efficiently as he guides us through difficult situations. Focus and efficiency help us in our quest for personal evolution and help create the necessary stepping stones we need to move ahead.

The Greek Goddess Hecate teaches us about the importance of change. She helps us to release the past and the old things that keep us from moving on and how to accept change and transition. She tells us: ” I am the guardian of the crossroads. Remember that to move ahead you must face your fears and release the past. Change and circumstance are inviting you to choose a path. It is your choice so make the one that is best for you.”

Our Sacred Stones for today include:

Smoky Quartz helps to neutralize negative energy and teaches us how to work through the fear of failure which can show up during times of change and transformation. It also promotes clear insight and focus, which can help us to leave behind the things that no longer serve us and make room for the blessings headed your way.

Okenite which can be used to help clear away obstacles and teaches us that the universe is filled with unlimited possibilities when we allow ourselves to face and adapt to change. It helps us to find our inner strength so that we can finish what we start and helps replace bad habits with good ones.

Tiger Iron, which is a combination of Jasper, Hematite and Tiger’s Eye, helps to promote change by opening space within and providing the energy to accomplish what’s needed by generating new and creative ways and ideas to make the changes easier.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

Thought For The Day: Jan. 2, 2020 “Path = Life”

Happy Thursday,

We talk often about our path. Our path = life. Obviously, life isn’t easy which means that as we navigate our path we will invariably encounter obstacles. When we find these things we have choices. Do we give up or do we work to eliminate what lies in our path?   Remember that life is an adventure and by slaying a few dragons and climbing mountains we grow and our lives become richer and more fulfilling. So grab your courage, your pocket handkerchief, and a walking stick so that you are ready to meet those obstacles wherever they pop up.

Thought For The Day: Oct. 29, 2019 “Just Another Step”

Happy Tuesday,

Some days it feels like everything is against us, and no matter what we do we just can’t seem to move forward. The truth is that yes sometimes life throws obstacles in our way and sometimes we allow these things to stop our momentum altogether. Remember, you always have a choice so find yourself a stepping stone (no matter how small) and take another step. Keep growing, keep creating and above all keep moving!

KarmaTube: Smuggling Hope

What would you think if you heard of two people smuggling 500 pieces of children’s artwork into the Guggenheim, one of the most famous art museums in the world? Would it sound ridiculous? Beautiful? Funny? Like a waste of time? Well, in this fun video, you’ll get to see this happen thanks to Brad and Kristi Montague of the Montague Workshop, a project dedicated to doing things for kids—including smuggling artwork. And though Brad and Kristi succeed, their endeavor bears a surprise message about hope, one that startlingly reminds us that things don’t necessarily have to be the way we think they are.

MBG: How To Create A Sacred Morning, Afternoon, & Bedtime Routine

Falling into a routine doesn’t necessarily sound like the most exciting thing to happen to your life. By definition, the very word “routine” implies the opposite of special, and often, it’s something to break free from, especially when it involves less-than-beneficial habits (gluing ourselves to the couch or blankly scrolling through our phones at bedtime—we’ve all been there!).

Elephant Journal: How each Equinox & Solstice teaches us to Honor Ourselves.

Growing up, I had the privilege of experiencing a childhood where I had the opportunity to connect with and develop a love of nature.
Because of this, I’ve always appreciated Earth and all that she gives us. Being from Northern Ontario, I have experienced not only the extremes of each season, but also the beauty.

MNN: Rest easy, lazy bones: Evolution is on your side

Be as the mollusk — and embrace ‘survival of the sluggish.’

You may not have to get off the couch after all.
In fact, from an evolutionary standpoint, laziness may actually do you good — at least, if you have certain mollusk-like habits.

In a new study of bivalves and gastropods, University of Kansas researchers have found chronic lethargy to be an underrated survival strategy.

Patheos-Pagan: Which Pagan Path Should I Follow? | John Beckett

I wrote a book called The Path of Paganism. The irony is that once you get past the beginner stage, you realize there are many Pagan paths, not just one. Like a lot of people, I started out with Wicca – that didn’t work for me. Eventually I found Druidry, and through Druidry I found the ancestral, devotional, ecstatic, oracular, magical, public, Pagan polytheism I practice today.

Inner Journey:

CELEBRATE DIFFERENCES

“Souls don’t have races or sexes or religions. They are beyond artificial divisions.”
— Brian Weiss

Intolerance of differences always exists in people who don’t know who they are, people who don’t have a strong sense of their own authentic self, the soul within.

Intolerance is rooted in fear.

The basis for having a strong sense of self-esteem is to replace our unconscious idea of basic unworthiness with a conscious knowing of our fundamental inherent goodness. As Matthew Fox argues in Original Blessing, the notion of ‘original sin’ must be replacedwith the truth of ‘original blessing.’

Being in touch with our essential goodness, we can see the essential goodness in others as well.

“Beliefs separate. Loving thoughts unite.”
— Paul Ferrini

Patience

“Steady, patient, persevering thinking, will generally surmount every obstacle in the search after truth.”

-Nathaniel Emmons (1745-1840)

Aren’t we all together in this search for Truth? Our quest for spiritual growth is impressive! And that’s what will get us there – the way that we surmount those obstacles and continue on. We know that we must be patient with our journey, and patient with ourselves. We know that there is no “instant” answer, but that answers unfold before us with wisdom and grace. We know that our patience is rewarded continually as we grow and experience more of who we really are.

Beliefnet: 5 Tips to Find Your Confidence

Confidence is an assurance that we can make it. It is the uncanny ability to crush the inner fear and draw power when you are on empty. The definition of “confidence is a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.” Oftentimes when we do have the determination to move forward and step out in faith, we do fail. Experiencing the ebbs and flows of life is part of the human experience. To be honest, finding confidence is not easy.
