Sea turtles are amazing creatures. If they could talk just imagine the stories they could tell us. Look into the eyes of this gentle creature and you can see an ages old wisdom. He reminds us to take things slowly and that patience is the key to attaining our goals. Self reliance is also a lesson from the sea turtle. We don’t not need others to be our guide and the truth is that we have the necessary skills to navigate the currents of our lives. In times of uncertainty (which we are very certainly in right now), the mind can easily veer toward doom and gloom. Projections into the future or ruminations about the past are natural and normal—but not always helpful. To bring the mind back, mindfulness exercises that root you in the present can be a saving grace.
1. Wood furniture in good condition indicates security and comfort on the horizon, while worn out old furniture warns of rough times ahead.
2. Lumber neatly stacked is a sign of progress and advancement, while beat-up old lumber lying on the ground augurs disappointment, or the need for careful planning in order to avoid disappointment.
3. A fallen log lying on the ground hints at surprises coming, while logs floating down a river portend rapid progress.

The world is experiencing unprecedented amounts of stress as humanity finds its way through the pandemic.

EarthSky News: Year’s biggest supermoon on night of April 7-8
In North America, we often call the April full moon the Pink Moon, Grass Moon or Egg Moon. This year, in 2020, this April full moon also presents the closest (and thereby the largest) supermoon of the year. That’s because this full moon more closely coincides with lunar perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth in its monthly obit – than any other full moon in the year 2020.

Moon water is water which has been charged with the energy of the moon, usually the full moon, which is useful as an ingredient for a wide variety of spells and workings. It is normally made by putting water in a vessel and leaving it overnight where it will be hit by the light of the moon, whether that is in a windowsill or somewhere outside.

Inner Journey:
WISDOM
“…we need to abandon the idea that wisdom is knowing everything-the whys, the wherefores, the how-tos. Wisdom is often more subtle, both far simpler and exceedingly more complex. For wisdom requires the discerning, the listening to, the acknowledgement of nudges and notions, of senses and sensations, of the minute and what we often mistakenly assume is the mundane. Wisdom means listening to the still, small voice, the whisper that can be easily lost in the whirlwind of busyness, expectations, and conventions of the world….”

“Nine-tenths of wisdom is appreciation. Go find somebody’s hand and squeeze it, while there’s time.”

A Note from the Universe
We interrupt your day with a test, a test of the Emergency Broadcast System.
Can you see me, right now?
Yes — I’m the light, and all it shines on.
Can you hear me?
Yep — every single sound, and the silence, too.
Can you feel me? Right now? In the air on your skin, under your feet, and in the palms of your hands? The tug at your heart, the rhythm it keeps, and the blood in your veins?
Right. Now, next time you have cause for alarm, see me. Next time you need absolutely anything, listen to me. And next time you feel all alone, remember you’re not.

Meaning
“The world is not divine sport; it is divine destiny. There is divine meaning in the life of the world; of man, of human persons, of you and of me.”
-Martin Buber (1878-1965)
Sometimes we just have to pause and ask “why?” Think about it. There are no accidents, there is meaning everywhere. There is this organizing power at work in the world. We have our place in the world, and our tasks to complete. The people we meet, the people we love, are all a part of our lives for a reason. We can learn from all of our experiences, and become better people from living life consciously and meaningfully.

MBG: How Doing Eye Yoga Can Help You Relieve Stress
The average adult spends three hours a day on their phone. That’s 45 days a year. On our phones! Let’s not even talk about what that means for a lifetime. “Here’s the thing: Mister Rogers almost never taught us that we should be kind. There wasn’t much should at all in the Neighborhood. The shoulds that did subtly emerge were more like suggestions. “You might consider sharing who you are through the arts. May I suggest that you find ways to express your feelings? May I remind you, once more, that those expressions don’t have to hurt you or anyone else?” Most of all, more than kindness (which he rarely talked about), more than self-expression and feelings (which he talked about all the time), he told us one thing again and again: “You are lovable.” He didn’t usually say it quite like that. Instead, he said, “I like you just the way you are,” or “There’s only one person in the world like you,” or “You’ve made this day a special day for me by just your being you.” And he sang it, too.”{ read more }

EarthSky News: Keep an eye out for Mercury and Mars
Mercury, the innermost planet, reached its greatest elongation from the sun on November 28, 2019. In other words, that date marked Mercury’s farthest point from the sunrise on the sky’s dome for this morning apparition. Mercury was 20 degrees west of the sun then, but – for the coming week at least – you can still find this planet before sunup. It’ll be in the east, more or less on line with the red planet Mars and the bright blue-white star Spica in the constellation Virgo.

“When flowing water … meets with obstacles on its path, a blockage in its journey, it pauses. It increases in volume and strength, filling up in front of the obstacle and eventually spilling past it….

Belief
“Believe that you may understand.”
-St. Augustine (A.D. 354 – 430)
Belief is the first step toward understanding, which then leads to knowledge, wisdom, faith, and conviction. Belief suggests that we are to trust something that we can’t necessarily see. We have to take someone’s word for it. Or we have to trust our own inner vision that something is possible which hasn’t happened yet. Belief takes strength, and it can help us to grow.

-Garrison Keillor
There is so much truth in this… I’ve been getting Christmas catalogs in the mail since August! Our society has gotten so retail oriented, so marketing savvy, that we’re always months ahead of ourselves. Whether it’s holiday sales, or movie previews, or upcoming specials, we’ve been trained to think ahead or be left behind. So we can’t really enjoy the moment we’re in because we’re too busy planning for the time that’s yet to come. How sad. But we can do something about it! Resolve to live in the now.
