Thought For The Day: March 9, 2018 “Meadowlarks”

Happy Friday,

Sometimes happiness feels like an elusive thing. Happiness is not found through material gain. There are some who might disagree with that and I’m sorry for them. People like that just don’t get it. Happiness comes from within and is a combination of gratitude and tiny miracles. The song of a meadowlark brings me absolute happiness, as do hugs, good friends and dancing. Today I challenge you to find at least one simple thing that makes you happy!

Letting go and moving on can be hard to do. We hang on to bad things out of fear and self doubt and good things because we think that it can’t get any better. Eventually though we come to realization that we are missing out on things and that life is passing us by. Grab your courage and turn the page. Life is an adventure and we were made to travel it’s path!

Happy Wednesday,

New beginnings or even just keeping yourself moving forward can be hard. Our thought for the day helps to simplify the process.

If we wait for the “perfect” time, it will never come. Make wherever you are right now the right time and take the first step.

If we wait for everything to be handed to us  we never get it. Start with what you have and the rest will come (and then some!)

If we try and force things to happen our forward progress can stop. Do what you can with what you have. The object it to START and get the ball rolling. You’ve totally got this!

Did you know that how you talk to yourself makes a difference? For example when you say “I Wish” you are basically saying “I have doubts”, “This will never happen but”. However if you say “I Will” you are telling yourself “I want this!”, “I am going to make this happen!” Words have power, our subconscious realizes it even when we don’t. Do you want change? Think with power today and make things happen!

The key to success lies in self acceptance. Comparing ourselves to others is a waste of time and energy. Everyone has things that they are good at (and things that they’re not) and the key lies in making the best use of your personal strengths. Don’t sell yourself short or be stingy, you are an amazing being with a multitude of amazing qualities!

Friends are like the tides, they ebb and flow. Some people make new friends easily and others struggle with it. Once in awhile we simply get the urge to find new people and add to our tribe.  New friends can add new things to your life. Things that you might not have known were missing. If you struggle like I tend to do then today’s thought is for you. Don’t be afraid to reach because the person you reach out to may have a hard time as well!

Happy Wednesday ,


There is a lot to said about the way our ancestors lived. They obviously didn’t have the technology we enjoy today but they were closer to each other than we are now. The sense of community was strong and helping each other was normal and natural. Maybe  we no longer know what community really is. It seems to me that we only come together when tragedy strikes or something upsetting happens. Most never reach out to help unless there is something in it for them, people say “I have your back” and then throw you under the bus. Nice huh? Things are only as complicated as we make them, so why not make the choice to do good and help where we can and strengthen the ties of community.

Happy Tuesday ,


We communicate with people everyday in both verbal and non verbal ways and it’s important in our relationships with others and with ourselves. The thing I notice is that most people are too caught up in themselves and their own drama to communicate in a positive manner with others. Listening is part of good communication it shows that you value the person who is speaking. Remember that words have value even if you don’t agree with them.

Self happiness is found by always being yourself not by being what others want you to be.


Love is found in the ability to love unconditionally and remaining true to yourself in the process.


Personal growth lies in the ability to really listen and take responsibility for yourself without making excuses.


Speaking from the heart teaches us that speaking with compassion is often the best way to get our point across.
