Want to surprise and impress your friends on New Year’s Eve? Show them Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, sometimes called the Dog Star because it’s part of the constellation Canis Major the Greater Dog. Sirius might also be called the New Year’s star. It’ll celebrate the birth of 2021 and every new year by reaching its highest point in the sky around the stroke of midnight. That’s the case this year, and every year.

Inner Journey: THE KEY TO THE FUTURE

“The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them changes both the maker and their destination.”
— John Schaar

We’ve been taught to look forward to our future. Somehow, we believe, things will be better then. But the future is not available to be lived – we can only live NOW. So what are we doing to live best right now? What are we doing now that will bear fruitwhen we reach some future now?

“Let him who would enjoy a good future waste none of his present.”

A Note from the Universe

If you were able to look back at your most brilliant successes, stunning comebacks, amazing catches, and smokin’ ideas and you were to find that virtually all of them seemed to materialize out of thin air, when you least expected them, and that they had exceeded even your greatest expectations at the time, how excited would you be about the new year and whatever else I’ve got up my sleeve?

Goals
“What we truly and earnestly aspire to be, that in some sense we are. The mere aspiration, by changing the frame of the mind, for the moment realizes itself.”

-Anna Jameson, 1855

We wouldn’t aspire to something if it wasn’t within our capability to achieve it. We can see, both literally and figuratively, ahead as far as we want to go. Because we can perceive something means that it is already a part of us. Distance, whether in time or space, is all relative.

Thought For The Day: Dec. 31, 2020 ‘ A Cup of Kindness”

Happy Thursday,

We have almost made it through another year, and what a year this was. So this brings us to New Year’s Eve also known as Hogmanay. I hope everyone has a safe and happy celebration. Hold family close and create some new traditions to usher in the new year!

“Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.”

STRUGGLING WITH A DECISION?

My anxiety level spiked the other day as I wrestled with whether to choose option A or option B. I was so afraid of making the wrong choice!

And then I remembered, with deep gratitude, Susan Jeffers’ sage advice: There are no wrong decisions! Whatever we might choose in life will bring valuable experiences if we are open to receive them.

A Note from the Universe

I want you to know that I’ve ordered up another year for you.

Think I’ll call it 2020.

I’m going to put most of the same people from 2019 in it, since you all think so much alike. But there’ll also be a few new, very cool cats coming to play – give them some time to grow-up though.

And I’m going to have things start off pretty much exactly where they left off in 2019, for continuity’s sake. Flips folks out too much when I don’t.

All in all, 365 more days in paradise… and only one request of you:

DREAM BIGGER.

Coolio?

Vegetarianism

“I have known many meat eaters to be far more nonviolent than vegetarians.”

-Mohandas K. Gandhi

Vegetarianism is just one choice we can make in our lives. But just being a vegetarian doesn’t make a person a saint. We are faced with many choices every day of our lives. Yes, it is important to treat animals with love and respect. It is also important to live in peace among our fellow human beings. The kindness and compassion we feel for one friend, or pet, or family, or species, can extend out into the world to all living creatures, and create peace and harmony for all of us.
