Much of what has been surfacing recently is linked to the old mental programming and conditioning we adopted in childhood, which keeps us tied to childhood wounds and old emotions.
Celtic Tree Month of Alder or Ffearn (FAIR-n) runs from March 18th to April 14th.
Plant Information:
This tree is a member of the Birch family and is native to the British Isles, Europe and North America. Alders require a great quantity of water and can reach 65 feet or more if left to grow undisturbed.
In numerology, two-digit numbers are reduced to a single digit, and that’s how numerology works. Double-digit numbers receive their essence from single digits or root numbers.

EarthSky News: Fastest sunsets happen near equinoxes
Here’s a natural phenomenon you might never have imagined. That is, the sun actually rises and sets faster around the time of an equinox. In 2021, the vernal equinox falls on March 20 at 9:37 UTC; translate to your time zone. The fastest sunsets (and sunrises) happen at or near the equinoxes. And the slowest sunsets (and sunrises) happen at or near the solstices.
The Spring Equinox. Ostara. The Rites of Spring. By any name, it is a celebration of those things we wish to grow, bursting forth as the barest promise of more to come; but that isn’t what I want to talk about today.
“For all my good intentions, there are days when things go wrong or I fall into old habits. When things are not going well, when I’m grumpy or mad, I’ll realize that I’ve not been paying attention to my soul and I’ve not been following my best routine.” — Robert Fulghum
How do you need to bring more balance to your life?
Robert Fulghum has shared, “The older I get, the more I realize the importance of exercising the various dimensions of my body, soul, mind and heart. Taken together, these aspects give me a sense of wholeness. I want to be a whole human being rather than one who limps on one leg because I don’t know how to use all of my parts. Intellectual, emotional, and physical activity are not separate entities. Rather, they are dimensions of the same human being.”
“There is an Indian Belief that everyone is in a house of four rooms: A physical, a mental, an emotional and a spiritual. Most of us tend to live in one room most of the time, but unless we go into every room everyday, even if only to keep it aired, we are not complete.” — Rumer Godden

Trees “When you look up from your typewriter, look at the trees, not the calendar.”
-Mary Virginia Micka, The Cazenovia Journal (1990)
That’s good advice for all of us these days! We’re on the computer so much. When we get a moment’s break, what do we do? If we can just take some time to re-connect with nature, to remember the beauty that surrounds us, we will be so much more natural and relaxed. There is a tree right outside my office window. It looks so calm, and it makes me feel calm to just sit and look out the window for awhile.

“If I get to pick what I want to do, then it’s play… if someone else tells me that I have to do it, then it’s work.” — Patricia Nourot
Are you continually struggling to accomplish what is expected of you? If so, stop to think for a moment: who holds those expectations?
Perhaps you’re trying to meet the expectations of a parent or a teacher or other authority figures who may be long gone from your life. But many of us toil under the critical eyes of a vague ‘somebody’ who always judges that we’ve never done enough or done things well enough. Who is this phantom judge? And do we need to care about what they think any longer?
We find both our own power and happiness when we begin to set our own standards around what has heart and meaning for us.

Trees “Every time I meet a tree, if I am truly awake, I stand in awe before it. I listen to its voice, a silent sermon moving me to the depths, touching my heart, and stirring up within my soul a yearning to give my all.”
-Macrina Wiederkehr, A Tree Full of Angels (1988)
I can pretty safely guess that we’ve all seen a tree or two in our time. But can we say we’ve actually met a tree? Trees are incredibly beautiful living beings. We can learn so much from their inherent wisdom. My teacher, Louise Taylor, taught me that spirituality is like the trunk of a tree. From there strong branches can grow, our career, health, relationships and everything else. But if we get caught out on a limb, we become off balance. Our spirituality is our strength, our core.

We are in the midst of some incredible shifts which are readjusting and recalibrating the energetic structures of our being. A new level of expanded consciousness is being integrated and grounded within the cellular structures of our physical form and our physical reality

Every year at Ostara, everyone begins chatting about a goddess of spring known as Eostre. According to the stories, she is a goddess associated with flowers and springtime, and her name gives us the word “Easter,”

In your journal, list at least 5 things that hold you back.
Now review your answers. Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself?
It’s important to understand that ALL obstructions are rooted in our internal blocks. Even the problems that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back to us problems we have inside. Once we address our inner issues, the outer problems disappear.

Daily Wisdom March 8, 2021
Women and Men “I object to anything that divides the two sexes. My main point is this: human development has now reached a point at which sexual difference has become a thing of altogether minor importance. We make too much of it; we are men and women in the second place, human beings in the first.”
-Olive Shreiner (1884)
The “battle of the sexes” was an issue back in the 1800’s and we’re still talking about it today. Clearly, there is a difference between men and women. But maybe we’ve come to the point where we can understand that our similarities far outweigh our differences. Rather than look at what divides us, let’s look at what binds us. We aren’t Martians and Venusians, we’re here together on the same planet.

“If you are ready to accept all which you find in yourself, you will be able to move through everything with deep sensitivity, awareness, love and understanding.” — Gerd Ziegler
As we understand it, the spiritual journey is not about becoming perfect. It’s about acceptance, releasing judgment, and embracing everything in wholeness.
This is a great challenge for our personality. We’ve grown up comparing ourselves to others, always judging how we’re better and worse than those around us. And many of us are very good at finding fault with ourselves.
If we release judgment, then nothing needs to be fixed — including you. Explore inviting your soul to help you accept all that is and experience a whole new way of living.

Longevity “The brain is the organ of longevity.”
-George Alban Sacher (1917- 1981)
Longevity here means not only length of life, but vitality, too, both health and happiness-wise. Why is longevity important? Because the more time we have here on earth, the more opportunity we have to learn and to grow. That’s what we’re here for. That’s what it’s all about. So we might as well make the most of the years that we have, get it all in!

Confidence is not the swagger or certainty with which we convey what we know. It is the fidelity with which we listen to and relate to the irreducible foundation of all life. For there is a difference between how we carry what we know and how we know what we know.

“The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.” — Henri Bergson
Our entire universe is energy — vibrating waves of pure potential. The electromagnetic vibrations of our consciousness interact with the energetic potential that exists everywhere as the life force to ‘collapse’ the waves and create matter. So the patternsof our minds create the form of our world.
By simply observing a form, we influence it. We in turn are influenced by others. This challenges us to be more aware of the quality of our being and the vibrations we transmit.

Warmed by a sun that has just crossed the equator, March becomes April and winter becomes spring… and people come down with Spring Fever.
It’s not really a fever, of course. The symptoms are vague, but persistent. People feel more energetic and often feel a certain element of lust—some of it for life in general. Exuberant sufferers want to plant gardens, move to the country, start new projects and may daydream of an al fresco dinner or even about calling in sick to work. But most of all, spring gets us thinking about love. Spring is hormone-racing season.

Patheos-Pagan: 7 Suggestions For A Shinto-Pagan Spring Equinox
I am exceedingly fortunate. My place of work, which is a Japanese organisation, gives us selected Japanese holidays as paid holidays in addition to the UK ones. And one of these holidays is Shunbun no Hi, or the Spring Equinox. I think I am one of the few Pagans in the UK who gets Ostara off without having to request it!
This is thanks to the fact that the Spring Equinox is an important day in Shinto and Buddhism, the two main religions in Japan which are more or less merged with each other. Its part of a seven-day period called Higan, which is a time for remembering the dead. You can read more about what the Spring Equinox means for the Japanese here.
