Cat’s Morning Bits for March 6, 2020
Good Morning Beautiful Souls, grab a cup of your favorite morning brew and start things off with “Today’s Inspirations”. I hope you find something here that will make you feel good or help you on your path today.
The brown buds thicken on the trees,
Unbound, the free streams sing,
As March leads forth across the leas
The wild and windy spring.
-Elizabeth Akers Allen (1832-1911)
Spirit Library: Untangle Yourself
a message from Kate Spreckley
Currently humanity exists within a healing crisis which is urging us to take responsibility for the unsustainable ways of living and being we continue to practice, and which uphold and further this crisis. As the energy continues shift and expand our consciousness we are being driven to develop a new relationship with the physical aspect of our existence and thus further integrate our soul.
ThoughtCo: History of Ostara, The Spring Equinox
The word Ostara is just one of the names applied to the celebration of the spring equinox on March 21. It’s been celebrated and observed for a long time in many places around the world.
MBG: Lunar & Solar Eclipses 101: Everything You Need To Know About These Rare Events
Eclipses aren’t always visible to everyone on the planet, but trust—even if you can’t see an eclipse happening, you’re still going to feel the effects of this important cosmic event. Here’s what you need to know about what causes lunar and solar eclipses and what they mean for you
Karma Tube: The Longest Night
Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, has a parallel in the tale of days we call our lives. During a dark time it can be hard to remember the warmth and joy that also comes and goes. This lovely animated poem reminds us to keep taking one step at a time toward the coming light.
Today’s DIY: Herbal Spirit/Spell Candles
MNN: How to make hand sanitizer
The threat of coronavirus has made it hard to find at stores.
Have you tried to buy hand sanitizer lately? With the coronavirus spreading and an outbreak in the U.S. likely, Americans are stocking up on cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer just like they do with milk and bread before a snowstorm. Third-party sellers on Amazon have hiked up their prices to ridiculous levels
EarthSky News: Moon and faint Cancer on March 6
On March 6, 2020, the bright waxing gibbous moon shines in front of Cancer the Crab, the faintest constellation of the zodiac. Although the moon marks Cancer’s place in the sky on this night, the moonlit glare will make Cancer tough to see.
Patheos-Pagan: Springtime Can Wait: A Love Story With Persephone And Hades
Every winter, the cold, dark days seem to drag on. The weather chills me to the bone. Even when the light returns, I’m grumpy. More than anything, I long for Persephone to return from the Underworld. I want her love to be spread across our world in the form of flowers, sunshine, warmth, and joy
TIME FOR STILLNESS
“We’re so engaged in doing things to achieve purposes of outer value that we forget that the inner value, the rapture that is associated with being alive, is what it’s all about.”
— Joseph Campbell
The sages all say that the path to liberation is found in entering the stillness within. To experience that stillness, we need to be willing to regularly stop the activity for a while.
How do we do this in a busy life? We set our priorities. Perhaps it means giving up a TV program or using a coffee break to grab a few moments of solitude. Perhaps we have to ask our partner, relative or neighbour to give us 30 minutes of time away from the kids. If we really want something, we can make it happen.
“Learn to pause… or nothing worthwhile will catch up to you.”
— Doug King
A Note from the Universe
All you have to do is be. Be yourself.
There’s nothing to prove. And there’s no one to please who isn’t already over the moon with joy at how well you’ve done and with who you’ve become.
Today’s Recipe: Korean Kebabs
This is a juicy dish and really easy to prepare. I have made these for years and they’re still a huge favorite with family and friends. I serve them with mushroom rice and garlic bread. This is a sauceless recipe but the meat is so succulent you don’t need it

“The whole process of evolution, for the Spirit, is an awakening to the truths, and the means of implementation of those truths, that are eternally present in itself.”
-N. Sri Ram (1889- ?)
Evolution in this case means growth, and especially spiritual growth. In the definition above, evolution seems to be a natural process – an “awakening.” Whether we wake up gradually, with the light of dawn, or suddenly, with some kind of an alarm, we do wake up. It is in the awakened state that we are productive. And in the spiritually awakened state the infinite possibilities of the universe are as much a reality to us as the start of a new day.
Daily Tarot: The World
Lucky you! The World card symbolizes freedom and well-being, which can both be obtained via working through existing romantic issues. The sense of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being you want from a relationship is yours for the taking, but you have to be willing to do the work it takes to not only get it but to keep it, too. An upcoming romantic adventure is linked to your success today.
