Thought For The Day: May 14, 2020 “Follow the Light”

Sunflowers are happy flowers. They are bright and cheerful and apparently, they are smart too. The flower heads follow the sun as it travels across the sky. Even on cloudy days, they look for the light turning their faces to catch even the faintest glimmer. To me, they symbolize hope and optimism and even a bit of faith. Embrace the sunflower spirit today. remember that the light is always there. Keep looking for it and follow it, have faith in it, and be guided by it!

Joy is something that people think they need to search for or is something given to them by someone else. But the truth is much simpler than that. True joy comes in many forms however if we are continually looking for joy to arrive in big packages we will be disappointed. In order to find our joy we must look within for the tiny things that make us feel good and this ability resides in perspective. Challenge yourself today to examine the small things that make you feel good. Keep it simple!

They are not afraid to be seen or heard. The lesson here is that we all have a song, a voice, and by sharing this with confidence it helps us to find our joy. This helps us on both the spiritual and emotional levels and opens our hearts to receive. Be like a bird today and use your voice. Be heard and sing your song!

Relationships are important and healthy relationships even more so. One of the keys to a healthy relationship lies in our ability to remain true to ourselves and continue being our own person rather than an extension of someone else. Relationships require both compromises, concessions, and give and take. However, it’s easy to lose pieces of yourself by trying to fit in, trying to live up to the expectations of others, or simply giving in because it’s easier to do so. Remember to always be yourself and be your own person. Our differences can make us stronger and more resilient. They keep life fresh and interesting and remind us that we are special, unique, and amazing. You’ve totally got this!
