ThoughtCo: Lammas History: Welcoming the Harvest
At Lammas, also called Lughnasadh, the hot days of August are upon us, much of the earth is dry and parched, but we still know that the bright reds and yellows of the harvest season are just around the corner.
MBG: How To Recognize A Karmic Lesson & What To Do About It
If you’re a believer in karma, you may know a thing or two about karmic lessons; lessons that are deeply unresolved and bridge lifetimes. Karmic lessons are the themes and situations we didn’t learn from, or mishandled, in the past.
from Wise Woman Herbal Ezine: Embodying Beauty
by JoAnne Dodgson
How is it we’ve come to believe that there are some people who are beautiful and others who are not? Does it really make any sense that measuring tapes, bathroom scales, clothing sizes, and calorie-counts hold the power to determine whether or not we’re worthy of love? What drives us to spend countless hours and dollars to recolor, reshape and resize our bodies, over and over again? Why has the beauty of who we are become so difficult to see?

Elephant Journal: Why all Empaths need to start Taking out the Trash.
As empaths, we can tap into awesome emotions like joy, excitement, and inspiration.
But let’s face it, nobody ever found themselves struggling because they tapped into too much love. We most often find ourselves taking in other people’s trash and sitting in it.
Treehugger: Ask Me About Plalking
My husband and I enjoy an outing together, almost every day. But nowadays, we are not walking anymore. We’re plalking. It’s great for health and the conscience. Plus it’s the new sexy.
EarthSky News: Summer Triangle and smallest constellations
The Summer Triangle is not a constellation but a large asterism consisting of three bright stars in three separate constellations. These stars are Vega, Deneb and Altair. If you can find the Summer Triangle, you can use it to locate three of the sky’s smallest constellations: Vulpecula the Fox, Delphinus the Dolphin and Sagitta the Arrow. All three would be impossible to see from the city, but they’re lots of fun to see in a dark sky.
Patheos-Pagan: How to Stop Overthinking Your Magic
One of the students in the Under the Ancient Oaks Operative Magic class raised a very good question:
I think one of the reasons why I don’t do magic more frequently is that I overthink things. It took me many hours of research and planning to pull this together.

REMEMBER YOUR SPIRITUAL SIDE
“The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays.”
— Soren Kierkegaard
Reminding ourselves often of our spiritual natures truly changes the quality of our lives. It helps us relax, slow down, lighten up, and generally find more space and joy in life.
When we get down on ourselves or life, we can pull back and ask, “How might my soul regard this situation? What am I being invited to experience?”
This shift in perspective helps us let go of the resistance that always comes with negativity. As energy once again begins to flow, our outlook brightens.
“Spirituality is the sacred center out of which all life comes, including Mondays and Tuesdays and rainy Saturday afternoons in all their mundane and glorious detail. … The spiritual journey is the soul’s life commingling with ordinary life.”
— Christina Baldwin
“It is not my business to think about myself. My business is to think about God. It is for God to think about me.”
— Simone Weil
A Note from the Universe
Do you know what you’ve created?
No, besides an intergalactically known saunter named after you.
Inspiration, in the eyes that have watched you. Hope, in the minds that have admired you. And love, in the hearts that have known you.
Not bad, kiddo, not bad at all –
Today’s Recipe: Chicken Escabeche
Chicken breasts, onions, and carrots stew in vinegar and wine for a tangy South American escabeche meal. This is delicious served over rice or quinoa. This dish can be served immediately but it is even better if served at room temperature after the flavors have had some time to meld.

“Believe, when you are most unhappy, that there is something for you to do in the world. So long as you can sweeten another’s pain, life is not in vain.”
A basic human need is to feel needed. When we are feeling unhappy, we can step outside of ourselves and do something to help someone else. Once we see the effect that our actions have in the world, how our helping does some good, we are reminded how much we truly are needed. We are here for a reason. There are so many things we can do to help, we just have to get out there and do them
Daily Tarot: Death
Though no great demands may be made of you today, you may feel lackluster and just not setting the world on fire as you like to do. Everybody has a low energy day from time to time. Perhaps you’ve been pushing it too hard for too many days in a row and just need a short break. Don’t be lazy but be extra good to yourself. Tomorrow will be brighter.
