Spiritual Unite: Why Empaths Suffer From Dangerous Compassion Fatigue

Empaths are unique; they can put themselves in another person’s shoes. Allowing them to understand the emotions of that person.
One of the primary qualities of an empath is compassion. Psychologist Charles Figley has stated that too much compassion can lead to fatigue. It is known as Compassion fatigue

MBG: This Is How To Use The Aries New Moon To Be Your Most Confident Self

The other night I was in a car with two of my best friends, on the way to a silent art walk in LA, and I said out loud, “I am nervous to go to this workshop because of how beautiful and successful I currently feel. What if people don’t like me because of that?” I had never said those words out loud, and it felt terrifying.

MNN: Time-lapse captures bizarre beauty of Norway’s floating islands

If you were to pass by them, Norway’s floating islands wouldn’t warrant a second look. By all appearances, with a surface covered in green and sprinkled with trees, they betray little of their true nature from afar. It’s only when you attempt to step on one or, as shown in the video above, view them over time, that you notice something odd.

EarthSky News: Leo loses his tail. We gain a constellation

Tonight’s chart shows the sky in April high to the south around mid-evening. To the upper left of the constellation Leo the Lion are dozens of very faint stars. They make up the constellation Coma Berenices, otherwise known as Berenice’s Hair. You need a dark sky to appreciate the constellation Coma Berenices. If you have one … it’s very beautiful

Inner Journey:

USE YOUR BREATH TO RELAX YOUR BODY

“Breath is the link between the inner and outer worlds.”
— Alice Christensen

We live in very demanding times, and our health depends on our being able to relieve our bodies and minds from constant stress. Breathing with awareness can focus and concentrate our attention inside. This slows down our pace and eases the pressure, anxiety, anticipation and excitement that are common stress reactions.

At any time, you can consciously experience your breathing to help you concentrate your mind and relax your body. Compare how you feel after your session with how you felt before. Write about your experience in your journal.

“Controlled deep breathing helps the body to transform the air we breathe into energy. The stream of energized air produced by properly executed and controlled deep breathing produces a current of inner energy which radiates throughout the entire body and can be channeled to the body areas that need it the most, on demand.”
— Nancy Zi

A Note from the Universe

Don’t you just love ’em?

Everyone. Absolutely everyone.

They’re all scurrying around so. All planning and scheming and dreaming. Defending, proving, and justifying. Laughing, crying, and feeling. All behaving, more or less, as you expect them to…

Ah yea-a-ah, they do that a lot…

Originality

“True originality consists not in a new manner but in a new vision.”

-Edith Wharton, The Writing of Fiction, 1925

Each of us has eyes through which we see the world, and no two visions are exactly alike. But because we are conditioned to go along with the crowd, our vision gets blurred, and starts to look like everyone else’s. When we close our eyes, tap into our Source, and let Nature’s creativity and intelligence flow through us, we can restore our vision and our originality. We allow our inner artist to shine through!

Daily Good: Mary Oliver: Poet of Awe

Mary Oliver was in a class by herself. Distinguished with a Pulitzer Prize and a National Book Award, she was viewed with suspicion by literary critics for her status as a kind of rock star poet. For those of us who read her like a daily liturgy, her name is synonymous with other such essential words: mystery, wild, awe, terror, devotion, gratitude, grace. All of them come alive in her simple poems, that seem to rise from the crossroad of nature and spirituality, brimming with good questions. Fabiana Fondevila begins her process of saying goodbye in this essay full of beautiful snippets from the poet who helped so many of us find our way home to devotion and prayer through wonder and awe.

Add hostas to the list of plants you may have your yard that serve double duty as both edible and ornamental. The entire plant can be eaten — from the young shoots that emerge from the ground in early spring to the flowers that bloom in mid-late summer — but it’s most common to eat the shoots. The shoots can be sliced up and eaten raw in salads, or they can be cooked and prepared in a number of ways.

EarthSky News: Is Sirius the most luminous star?

Tonight – March 24, 2019 – look outside, and you can’t miss Sirius, the brightest star in the nighttime sky. Is Sirius the most luminous star? No. To astronomers, the word luminous refers to a star’s intrinsic brightness.

Sirius, in the constellation Canis Major (the Greater Dog), looks extraordinarily bright in Earth’s sky. It’s our sky’s brightest star. But its brightness stems primarily from the fact that it’s only 8.6 light-years away.

Inner Journey:

DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF?

“We cannot rise higher than our thought of ourselves.”
— Orison Swett Marden

What do you believe about yourself?

If you are experiencing a lack of something in your life, chances are that you hold a belief in your subconscious that says you aren’t worthy of having that quality. Write in your journal the answer to these questions for yourself:
• Where are you not good enough, not worthy enough?
• How willing are you to receive?

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.”

Transformation

“The sacred call is transformative. It is an invitation to our souls, a mysterious voice reverberating within, a tug on our hearts that can neither be ignored nor denied. It contains, by definition, the purest message and promise of essential freedom. It touches us at the center of our awareness. When such a call occurs and we hear it – really hear it – our shift to higher consciousness is assured.”

-David A. Cooper, 1994

In this passage, David Cooper writes about the shofar, the ram’s horn sounded in synagogue services during the Ten Days of Penitence. But there are a lot of different ways that ‘the sacred call’ may be expressed. The fact that we are pursuing our spiritual growth, that we are allowing ourselves to be more of who we really are, shows that we have heard that call! We know that life has meaning, and we are transforming our own lives to reflect that.

Reflect on your insights. How might you anchor this great idea so it enhances your life?

Humor

“Humor is emotional chaos remembered in tranquility.”  -James Thurber (1894-1961) US humorist, illustrator

Do you remember the TV show “My World and Welcome to It?” It starred William Windom as James Thurber. This was many years ago, so it may be that he played a James Thurber “type,” (I was very young and can’t remember the details. 😉 I loved that show! And I loved how the lesson was that there was always something to laugh at, some funny way of looking at something that we might not have thought of. Sometimes when we’re going through something really awful or embarrassing, we’ll look at one another and say: “Someday we’ll look back on this and laugh.” And doesn’t that happen! Some of our funniest moments come out of our most human foibles. We are funny people, and we can enjoy ourselves.
