A Gentle Invitation: Cat’s Angel Message for December 22, 2019

December’s Theme: It’s time to be proactive about replacing the old with the new. This is more easily done by allowing yourself to use your natural abilities and creativity and by surrounding yourself with love and laughter.

I am the owner of my choices. I am the source for the perspectives I choose to hold… regardless of how aware I am of why or how I come to possess that particular perspective. It takes courage to look into the mirror of our souls, absent excuses. I will look into that mirror little bits at a time. SEE and ACT. SEE what I can bear to see and ACT upon what I am able. This is the heart of a gentle invitation to personal responsibility. – Mary Anne Radmacher

1222: Happy Winter Solstice! Today marks the beginning of winter and the return of the sun, longer days, rebirth and a new beginning. These things require us to continue the positive thought process and turn over our sack of negative thought-seeds to the angels. Be sure to pay careful attention to the guidance and messages that you receive and stay true to yourself and your goals as it is this powerful belief that helps you manifest your dreams and goals. Only you know what is best for you and your personal evolution. It is your faith and focus that helps you most today. If you feel at loose ends take some time to ground, clear and center. The angels are here to support you and your efforts so if you need help just ask and set the wheels in motion.

Archangel Gabriel helps us to access our inner wisdom and shows us how it can guide and inspire us and teaches us the importance of communication on all levels. This helps us to overcome our fears so that we can complete the things we start and achieve positive results during times of transformation and change.

The Ascended Master Kuthumi helps us to navigate the distractions of everyday life. He encourages us to focus on what’s important right now and to stop fighting the things that we have no control over, which blocks our problem solving, creative flow and our power as a creator. Things flow easier when we are not struggling against the “what if’s and maybes.

The Hindu Goddess Lakshmi teaches us that good things happen when we embrace the world with a grateful and appreciative heart. She tells us ” You are worthy of so many wonderful things but first you must get out of your own way! Let me help you to clear the way so that these gifts can be given to you. Make room and feel the lightness it creates within your spirit.”

Our Sacred Stones for today include:

Tangerine Quartz helps to increase our receptivity to Divine inspiration while it stimulates the mind and enhances overall creativity. It fills us with hope and joy as it restores our feelings of self worth by balancing our emotions.

Rhodonite helps to balance both mental and physical energy. It shows us all sides to any given situation and clears away confusion and helps to promote confidence. Its calming influence helps us to ground and balance even during chaotic or upsetting situations. It also helps to promote the feeling of brotherhood and helps us to embrace gratitude while promoting a loving and balanced approach to life and encourages a positive attitude and creativity.

Desert Rose (Selenite). These beautiful stone “flowers” help to increase our understanding of our own personal value in the universal plan. it dissolves self imposed programming and helps us replace it with positive options.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

I invite you to share my work as long as no changes are made and to check out my websites:

Thought For The Day: Dec. 20, 2019 “Welcome Winter”

A Yuletide Toast

See the Yule Log draped with holly, glossy green and scarlet hued;

Adorned with ribbons and with gifts that Mother Nature grew.

Shaped by hands both large and small, a labor of love and joy;

To celebrate The Sun’s rebirth and a brand new season to enjoy.

So gather round and raise a cup to toast both log and coming light;

We’ll keep our vigil by the fire on this the longest night.

“The Holly King, represents the Death aspect of the God at this time of year; and the Oak King, represents the opposite aspect of Rebirth (these roles are reversed at Midsummer). This can be likened to the Divine Child’s birth. The myth of the Holly King/Oak King probably originated from the Druids to whom these two trees were highly sacred. The Oak King (God of the Waxing Year) kills the Holly King (God of the Waning Year) at Yule (the Winter Solstice). The Oak King then reigns supreme until Litha (the Summer Solstice) when the two battle again, this time with the Holly King victorious. Examples of the Holly King’s image can be seen in our modern Santa Claus.”

BRING SOUL INTO THE WORLD

“We live in a culture that is greatly biased against the imagination, because our culture is very materialistic, objective and literal. Our culture lacks soul, and doesn’t know it, although it experiences the consequences. When you don’t know what’s missing, then of course you don’t know what to bring in, even though you feel something is missing.

“We live in a world that needs more soul, more meaning. We, as conscious beings, have, as our primary responsibility, at this time in human history, the task of bringing soul into the world, or releasing soul into theworld. We do this, first of all, in ourselves and in our own personal world; then we do it in our groups – including family; then we do it in our society through our work, relationships and presence there.”

She wanted to share her friends and her secrets with other people just like her, so she began to give birth. Every month when the moon was hiding, she gave birth. FREE TO CHOOSE

“Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility.”
— Sigmund Freud
In his book Nobody’s Victim, Christopher J. McCullough explains, “In order to live your freedom, you must first accept reality. ‘These are the choices, and given those choices, which do I choose?’ Whether the option you select is pleasant or painful does not alter the fact that, given reality, this is your preference.
“To live your freedom, it is helpful to stop and ask yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?’ and then notice whether, given the options, you are choosing what you really want, or whether you want to choose something else…. Sometimes the exercise of freedom involves naming your poison — all choices may lead to outcomes that are in some way painful. But the real pain is that of feeling powerless — denying your freedom.”
“Freedom is man’s capacity to take a hand in his own development. It is our capacity to mold ourselves.”– Dr. Rollo May

Scripture

“There is something nearer to us than Scriptures, to wit, the Word in the heart from which all Scriptures come.”

-William Penn (1644-1718)

All scriptures, no matter which religions use them, originated somewhere, and were written by someone, or by many people who were compelled to put those exact words down on paper. The remarkable thing is that they have stood the test of time. Because Truth is Truth, it doesn’t change. And what resonated in the heart way back when, still resonates in our hearts when we read the words today.

Winter Solstice/Yule Correspondences

December 22, 2019

The Winter Solstice or Yule (ewe-elle/yool) is the shortest day of the year and the time when pagans celebrate the rebirth of the Sun. The date of this event tends to vary and falls sometime between Dec 20th and Dec 23rd. It is a fire festival and a quarter Sabbat. On this longest night of the year, the now elderly Holly King makes way for the newborn son(sun) who will soon be the Oak King. This holiday is celebrated worldwide and is known as Mean Geimhridh, Mid Winter and Yuletide.

The theme of the Winter Solstice is one of rebirth and renewal. It brings the return of hope and the knowledge that life will continue with the rising of the new sun after the long dark. Those of Christian faith celebrate the birth of Jesus around this time as well, but scholars now say that he was more likely to have been born around Easter. However, Jesus was not the only deity said to have been born at this time, he’s in the company of Pagan gods like Apollo. Mithras, and Horus. After the coming of Christianity, our ancestors continued to celebrate the Winter Solstice and eventually, the church decided that it was easier to incorporate the pagan celebration into theirs rather than to change it altogether. As a result, the pagan Sun God is born on the same day as the Christian Son of God, who is by the way called “the light of the world”. Here is an interesting little tidbit…Did you know that mistletoe was banned from churches due to its pagan/druid association?

Yule is also a festival of light and candles are a traditional item. Candles were lit at midnight as a symbol of the birth of the Sun God. In Ireland, oil lamps were left lit all night long. Special Yule candles were also poplar and one would be lit every night throughout the Twelve Days of Christmas which make up the traditional Yule season. As with any candle, blowing it out causes the accumulated luck that resides in the candle to “blow away”. The purpose of these candles is to bless the house and family in the coming year.

HONESTY

“Every violation of truth is not only a sort of suicide in the liar, but is a stab at the health of human society.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

What level of honesty are you living now? How honest are you with strangers, institutions and businesses, acquaintances, friends, family, spouse? How honest are you with yourself?

“Our lives improve only when we take chances – and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves.”

There is just something about old fashioned cakes, pies, cookies, etc that I love. And they are never better than at holiday time. Perhaps because they bring back memories of holiday gatherings with family and friends long gone from our lives. Here are some of my favorite recipes from the days of my childhood. I hope they will bring good memories to mind for you, too.

Environment

“I believe natural beauty has a necessary place in the spiritual development of any individual or any society. I believe that whenever we destroy beauty, or whenever we substitute something man-made and artificial for a natural feature of the earth, we have retarded some part of man’s spiritual growth.”

-Rachel Carson (1907-1964)

When we talk about the oneness of the universe – we’re not just talking about people. We live with and amongst nature. We share this planet with everything that is here. We’re all made up of the same “stuff.” We need nature and it’s nutrients to nourish ourselves! Nature nourishes our bodies, and it also nurtures our spirit. The profound peace that we feel when we are in the mountains, or under a starry sky, is food for our soul.

Things may not be going the way you like, but this is no time to give up. Whatever went wrong yesterday or last year is no excuse to stop trying to make things right. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. – Anais Nin

1221: Happy Winter Solstice! Today marks the beginning of winter and the return of the sun and longer days. On this day of celebration the Universe is asking us to use our powers of positive thinking and to trust in you inner guidance system and the universal energies. Remember that any statement you make can influence the outcome of any given situation, so take care to stay away from the negative ones. As we work towards transforming our lives it’s important to make statements in the present tense (I AM, I HAVE). The Universe and its helpers want us to have the best and be our best. They are always working behind the scenes to help us manifest our dreams and goals. Remember that when we do our part they can do theirs. Do not allow self criticism or the “Negative Nellie’s” of the world to bring you down or lower your energy. Stay focused and move into a brighter future.

Archangel Jophiel encourages us to see the beauty that surrounds us and carries that beauty over into our thoughts and actions. The Ascended Master Maitreya ( Laughing Buddha) promotes laughter, joy and peace, his joyful spirit helps us to release anxiety and worry (which can be typical this time of year) as he teaches us healing and peace through the ability to laugh. The Hawaiian goddess Pele helps us to ignite our inner fire. This fire when channeled correctly helps to fuel our passions and sense of purpose. She is a goddess of empowerment teaches us about honest communication and how it aids our goal setting and getting. She tells us “Within you lives the sacred fire that gives life to your greatest dreams and passions. This part of you must be allowed to come forward, not smothered beneath fear, resentment or the expectations of others. Your fire will help you forge new paths!”

Our Sacred Stones for today are Rose Quartz which helps us to enhance our power to create positive statements through self love and Ametrine which helps us to release blocks like negative emotional programming, it helps us to grow on all levels while encouraging us to explore all possibilities and finding creative solutions.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

Spiritual Unite: Red Chakra Meaning And Its Significance

Red is the colour of the Root chakra or Muladhara. This is the first of the seven primary chakras, and it deals with our base needs and wants.
The Root chakra is often overlooked for the more metaphysical, high-minded chakras that deal with consciousness, oneness, love and other “noble” ideals.

Daily Good: Native Women Reclaim Land Plot by Plot

In the San Francisco Bay Area, demand for land seems endless. Property values are sky-high, rents are backbreaking, and people just keep coming. Over 2 million more are expected to settle here by 2040. Today’s land rush is nothing new. For more than 200 years, there has been a run on Bay Area real estate a relentless wave of colonization, then suburbanization and now gentrification that left the Ohlone, the Bay Area’s first people, landless. Corrina Gould, a Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone leader and her partner in crime Johnella LaRose, who is Shoshone-Bannock and Carrizo; founded the Sogorea Te Land Trust in 2012 to reclaim Ohlone land in the Bay Area.

There are a lot of New Agey gardening tips that abound. Some gurus recommend playing music for your houseplants, or having conversations with them, or even giving them gentle massages or an intimate touch now and then. Most of these practices are probably more for the benefit of the gardener than the garden, but generally innocuous enough.

Inner Journey:

BIG MIND, LITTLE MIND

“It is the mind that makes one wise or ignorant, bound or emancipated.”
— Sri Ramakrishna

Zen distinguishes big mind from small mind. Big mind identifies with its process, is impersonal and participates universally. Big mind is unlimited possibilities, deeper understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, insight, connectedness, attention.

Small mind is self centred and focuses only on itself. It is compulsive, limited, reactive and mechanical. Small mind feeds on itself — fear reacts to fear, judgment reacts to judgment, anger sparks more anger.

Always seek higher perspectives and you will in time find freedom.

“If a pickpocket meets a Holy Man, he will see only his pockets.”
— Hari Dass

“Minds are like parachutes; they work best when open.”

Experience

“If it be knowledge or wisdom one is seeking, then one had better go direct to the source. And the source is not the scholar or philosopher, not the master, saint, or teacher, but life itself- direct experience of life.”

-Henry Miller (1891-1980)

There are all different ways of learning and growing. There are amazing works by brilliant people available to us at any time. And we can gain so much from the words of our fellow man. But where did they get these insights? At some point, the knowledge has to be experienced to be understood. And when it is understood, then it can be expressed. We all know what lessons we have learned from our experiences. And this is a big part of why we’re here – to experience life, to learn and to grow.

Daily Good: Hats Warm Heads and Hearts of Kids with Cancer

What started as an entrepreneurship project of two college students, Zachary Quinn and Brian Keller, grew into something much greater. Love Your Melon, founded in 2012, has taken the nation by storm and is supporting thousands of children with cancer each year. For every hat sold, one hat is donated to a child with cancer, helping to alleviate the shame and embarrassment that often accompanies the hair loss resulting from chemotherapy. The two founders view the hats as an icebreaker, providing physical and emotional warmth to the children they hope to get to know better during hospital visits. “We want to inspire communities to make this their own,” says Quinn. “And be able to continue it forever.”

YOU ARE BIGGER THAN YOU THINK

“He who would be serene and pure needs but one thing, detachment.”
— Meister Eckhart

We are the ocean — vast, deep, powerful and rich. Nourishing and nurturing. Dive down into the dark stillness of being. Sense the rising and falling of surface thoughts and emotions, sometimes gentle, sometimes violent. Always shifting. Always in motion. Draw back and watch the waves of your life at play. Know you are the unfathomable depths — surface agitations can’t disturb you. Know that you are bigger than the little things that aggravate you.

Service

“Serve self you serve society
Serve society serve yourself.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

Besides helping other people, service has the added benefit of helping the person doing the serving! How could this be? Because service makes us feel good, it helps us to grow spiritually, it helps us to gain compassion. Service helps to make our society a better place, and it’s a place we all share! Because we are all one, what we do for others, we do for ourselves.
