Inner Journey: LOVE LIFE AND YOURSELF

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
— Lao Tzu

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance.

We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

Herbal Spotlight: Pine Needles
(Pinus spp.)
Family: Pinaceae

Many herbalists focus on the use of white pine (Pinus strobus), which is abundant throughout the eastern United States and is easily identified by its unique five-needle clusters. But all pines can be used interchangeably in herbalism, so don’t hesitate to work with the species of Pinus found in your bioregion!

Not only is pine a quintessential winter fragrance, but it is also a beneficial herbal ally. Pine needles and bark are harvested and used fresh or dried for use in teas, tinctures, or infused oils. Pine’s warming energetics, its antimicrobial and expectorant actions, and vitamin C content make it a natural ally for respiratory support during cold and flu season.

Drinking a decoction of the bark and needles can help move respiratory congestion and ease a wet cough, and the decoction can also be used as a pleasant facial steam for the same purposes.

Thought For The Day: December 7, 2020 “Life Is A Garden”

Happy Monday,

Our thoughts create our reality. They create our perspective and our feelings. If our thoughts are centered around seeing the best in life then we are able to grow amazing and wonderous things and our world is filled with blessings. But if our thoughts are dark and weedy the good things that are there are choked out and hidden beneath the layers. Elevate today and spend some time working on your landscape. Pull some weeds and lovingly tend the new growth you have found underneath. By tending the inner landscape you will soon find it spilling out into your life. The blessings a bright profusion that will stimulate your creative soul.

126: Our powers of faith and positive thinking not only help us emotionally and spiritually they can also help to increase our flow of abundance and prosperity. Today the Universe is gently reminding us to balance our thoughts and concerns about our material supply with faith and positive thought. Maintaining this balance is important so it’s a good time for a self-check. If you are tipping the scales in either direction make the necessary mental adjustments to ensure that the energy flow remains in your favor. (The key is in remembering that it’s NEED and not want that generates divine assistance.) If you find yourself lagging take some time to ground and center. Then reaffirm your goals and intentions, ask for divine help if needed and above all pay attention to the signs and messages that you receive. You are a Creator so find your vision and make things happen!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Raguel sets us on the path to personal empowerment. He helps us to find our strength and promotes clarity when we feel conflicted about what to do next by providing a boost of energy and by bringing order to your thoughts. He empowers the underdog and also acts as a motivational coach when we feel down on ourselves and can help you to reach your full potential.

The Ascended Master Buddha is our go-to guy when we feel “wobbly’. He teaches us that the key to happy living requires moderation and balance in all things. This includes the important balance between giving and receiving. When we are balanced we find that inner peace is ours!

The Egyptian goddess Bastet (Bast) is not only associated with cats both large and small she is also a goddess of protection and of things that bring pleasure to the senses. In her role as protector she tells us “Never be afraid to stand up for yourself. Remember the importance of setting boundaries. This helps you to take control of your life”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Agate. This humble stone is the perfect one for grounding and balancing our energies. It also helps by raising our consciousness to access our higher self and promoting the awareness and acceptance of who we are and where we want to go in life. It nurtures our spiritual growth and inner strength by helping us to make the most of our life experiences.

Chrysocolla. This powerful blue-green stone helps us during periods of change and challenging times. It brings smooth transitions and helps us to accept change with serenity and calm. It helps us to be more self aware and promotes self confidence that inspires both creativity and motivation.

Patheos / New Visions : A Short 15-Point Guide to a Happy Life

Sometimes inspiration finds you. Other times you find it. The key is knowing where to look and for me one of the easiest places to locate a little spiritual stimulation is on one of the bookcases in our home. It was there, under a thin layer of dust, that I stumbled upon A Short Guide to a Happy Life by Anna Quindlen

Inner Journey: THE POWER OF SILENCE

“Growth takes place in a person by working at a deep inner level in a sustained atmosphere of silence.”
— Dr. Ira Progoff

How can we hear our wise voice of intuition if we are always thinking, talking and distracted by outer events?

If we take time daily to experience physical stillness and to direct our attention inside, we can begin to find the peace, love, will and wisdom that exist as our essence.

“Only when one is connected to one’s own core is one connected to others… And, for me, the core, the inner spring, can best be refound through solitude.”
— Anne Morrow Lindbergh

“In the sweet territory of silence we touch the mystery. It’s the place of reflection and contemplation, and it’s the place where we can connect with the deep knowing, to the deep wisdom way.”
— Angeles Arrien

On the other hand, since one of the reasons you’re in time and space is to understand that you do, indeed, have dominion over all things… nailing these early on would be way cool.

“I’m not hard, I’m frightfully soft. But I will not be hounded.”

-Margaret Thatcher

Personality is the image of ourselves that we present to the world. It is how others see us. This is not to be confused with who we really are. Who we really are goes much beyond our personality – we are so much more than that

Thought For The Day: December 4, 2020 “Filling The Space”

Happy Friday,

Most of us are feeling the effects of this pandemic. We are afraid or angry. Sad, depressed or stressed out. many of us are feeling an overwhelming emptiness because so much much has been lost, canceled or taken away. Our goals and dreams have been boxed up and set aside. Our thought today reminds us that we can use our creativity to help fill the emptiness we are experiencing. Start by creating a new goal or dusting off an existing one. Be creative, use what you have right now to get it started. Work on it a little bit each day and and set an example by showing off the power of living creatively! You can do it!
