But that is not my experience with this important affirmation.

Healing has been my ultimate goal for the last decade or so. I had compartmentalized various traumas from my life, focusing on specific ones at a time so as not to overwhelm myself.
I had successfully, thoroughly processed through my original traumatic experience from my teenage years and decided to give myself a break. It was a difficult and exhausting road and I needed some space to take a breath and celebrate my journey thus far.

Being honest with others can be hard. But being honest with ourselves can be harder yet. When we set ourselves a goal (It can be a relationship, or a job) and then things change we often struggle to keep the goal or outcome the same. Quite often it’s fear that keeps us from moving forward or ego and pride that won’t let us. This is where self honesty comes into play. It’s always a good thing to look at where you are no matter what you are working to create. Ask yourself the tough questions. ” Is this still what I want?”, “Are there changes that I need to make?”, “If this is no longer my goal what can I use from this to move myself in a new direction?” Things change all the time so don’t be afraid to assist in your transformation so let’s get real!
