Daily Tarot: Strength

Anger could raise its ugly little head today, but you have things under control. Don’t engage, if possible, and tactfully deflect the worst of whatever misunderstanding caused the outbreak. If it’s repressed anger, there may never be any loud or angry words. You can smooth any ruffled feathers simply by standing up and not being intimidated or rushed into any action or opinion. Patheos-Pagan: A New Chant for Litha: Honoring the Green Ones at Midsummer

It’s hard to believe, but official summer is almost here. The days are long. Here in the Mid-Atlantic, spring flowers are spent and we are seeing summer blooms opening around us; roses and lilies have taken the place of tulips and daffodils. The bright spring green of leaves’ first unfurling is past. Jungle green is all around us now and keeping up with the weeds in the garden is a daily challenge.

Comfort

“I have enjoyed many of the comforts of life, none of which I wish to esteem lightly; yet I confess I know not any joy that is so dear to me, that so fully satisfies the inmost desires of my mind, that so enlivens refines, and elevates my whole nature, as that which I derive from religion – from faith in God. – May this God be thy God, thy refuge, thy comfort, as he has been mine.”
-John Caspar Lavater (1741-1801)
It doesn’t matter which religion we follow – we can garner comfort from our relationship with God, from our faith. When we feel in need of comfort, this is where we should turn first. Out of habit, we tend to look elsewhere – but we will always find comfort, and strength when we look within.

Today’s Deity: Mawu

Mawu (alternately: Mahu) is a creator goddess, associated with the sun and moon in Dahomey mythology. In some myths, she is the wife of the male god Lisa. Mahu and Lisa are the children of Nana Buluku, and are the parents of Xevioso.

After creating the earth and all life and everything else on it, she became concerned that it might be too heavy, so she asked the primeval serpent, Aido Hwedo, to curl up beneath the earth and thrust it up in the sky

MY WILL OR DIVINE WILL?

“It is important not to ‘need’ what you are calling to you but rather to have a certain detachment about it. Let it be all right if it doesn’t come, or if it comes in a different form than what you expect. After you have asked for something, surrender to whatever comes as being appropriate.”
— Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer

“Acceptance says, True, this is my situation at the moment. I’ll look unblinkingly at the reality of it. But I’ll also open my hands to accept willingly whatever a loving Father sends me.”
— Catherine Marshall

“This business of hozho. The way I understand it … I’ll use an example. Terrible drought, crops dead, sheep dying. Spring dried out. No water. The Hopi, or the Christian, maybe the Moslem, they pray for rain. The Navajo has the proper ceremony done to restore himself to harmony with the drought. You see what I mean. The system is designed to recognize what’s beyond human power to change, and then to change the human’s attitude to be content with the inevitable.”

Words

“You can stroke people with words.”

-F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940)

What would we do without language? This is how we communicate. Words by themselves are so innocuous, but when we put them together, combine them together in such a way, they can be bitterly poisonous, or powerfully healing. Words can carry with them so much meaning. Through words we can express tenderness, and compassion.

Harnessing the Solstice Energy: Cat’s Angel Message for June 21, 2018

daily Angel Message sms

Harnessing the Solstice Energy: Cat’s Angel Message for June 21, 2018

June Theme: Balancing our need/desire for earthly materials (possessions, money etc) with focus and faith while staying grounded and present.

At the Summer Solstice, all is green and growing, potential coming into being, the miracle of manifestation painted large on the canvas of awareness. Gary Zukov

621: Today is the Summer Solstice (aka Litha or Midsummer) which makes today the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. This Solstice packs some pretty powerful energy and by  tapping into this power source we can boost our own powers of manifestation. The key is to believe in yourself as well as the creator. The stronger our belief is the more we are able to clearly see the blessings and miracles around us. Even the small everyday ones become clearer, which are more important by far. The ancient Romans honored the goddess Fortuna on this day and this is a good time to acknowledge the blessings you have as well as the ones that are coming.

Today try working with the deities associated with the sun and the Summer Solstice like Sulis Minerva, Apollo, Horus, Athena, Kali and Isis. The ancient Romans also honored the goddess Fortuna on this day and it’s a great time to acknowledge your blessings as well as your power as a creator.

Sacred Stones for the Summer Solstice include:

Amber to enhance your earth connection and to promote grounding. It is also a great healing stone (it’s actually tree resin) that helps to remove energetic impurities from the body.

Jade helps us to understand that you are spiritual being on the very human journey we call life. it stimulates knowledge and ideas.

Sunstone has a strong connection  to light and helps to harness the re energizing power of the sun during meditation and everyday life. It is linked to all benevolent deities and brings good fortune and luck.

Tiger’s Eye works with the energies of both earth and sun, it also helps with grounding while drawing spiritual energies to earth.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

I invite you to share my work as long as no changes are made and to check out my websites:

“The word ‘question’ is derived from the Latin ‘quarrier’ (to seek) which is also the root of ‘quest.’ A creative life is a continued quest, and good questions can be very useful guides. Most useful are open-ended questions; they allow for fresh unanticipated answers to reveal themselves.”
— Source Unknown

Questions hold the power to draw out answers that surprise us. If we are on an inner journey to greater self-knowledge, we must seek to understand unfamiliar parts of ourselves. The most enlightening answers are released by our subconscious minds or by our intuition. Use questions frequently to go exploring.

Try these out:
• What qualities do you find most attractive in others? How do you exhibit those same qualities?
• What is your greatest fear? Why do you fear that?
• What message is your body trying to get through to you?

“If we would have new knowledge, we must get a whole world of new questions.”
— Susanne K. Langer

“You don’t want a million answers as much as you want a few forever questions.”
— Richard Bach

A Note from the Universe

People who do all they can, with what they’ve got, from where they are,  no matter how puny their actions, how tiny their steps, or how futile it may seem, simply have more fun. Way.

Of course, to the uninitiated it doesn’t appear that way. To them it appears as if only those taking gigantic leaps, who drive cars with fancy wheels, have loads of friends, perfect bodies, and fly around the world in First Class Sleeper Seats, are having fun. But what they don’t realize is that we’re often talking about the very same folks, just at different points in their journey.

Coffee, tea, or a brand new Bentley?

Creativity

“To fulfill a dream, to be allowed to sweat over lonely labor, to be given the chance to create, is the meat and potatoes of life. The money is the gravy. As everyone else, I love to dunk my crust in it. But alone, it is not a diet designed to keep body and soul together.”  -Bette Davis

Our creativity is our nourishment, it is nutrition for our spirit! We cannot truly live without it. We are born creative beings, and we are creating every moment with every decision that we make. We are creating our lives right now.

Last Tuesday morning, we woke to news that designer Kate Spade had hung herself—with a scarf.
By Friday morning, the news was covering Anthony Bourdain’s suicide by hanging. As I combed the articles and updates for suicide resources, I found most of them lacking. In many cases, the juicy, morbid details took center stage over the more important topic of discussion—where to get help.

DON’T AVOID THE VOID

“When we feel stuck, going nowhere — even starting to slip backward — we may actually be backing up to get a running start.”
— Dan Millman

To change, we must go through a transition zone. It’s not easy being in transition. Thoughts, beliefs and habits are all in flux. It can create a sense of groundlessness, of being in a void that can be quite uncomfortable.

When we’re in the void, our first impulse will be to revert to old habits because they feel comfortable. Our goal is to hang in there until the change is complete. Knowing that TRANSITIONS ARE PART OF THE CHANGE PROCESS helps us muster the courage to put up with the discomfort, the uneasiness, the void.

Change requires a letting go of what we’ve always known and done to allow in something new. We need to trust ourselves and higher forces to unfold a new reality for us.

“Every positive change – every jump to a higher level of energy and awareness – involves a rite of passage. Each time to ascend to a higher rung on the ladder of personal evolution, we must go through a period of discomfort, of initiation. I have never found an exception.”
— Dan Millman

Humor

“Sexiness wears thin after a while and beauty fades, but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, ah, now that’s a real treat!” -Joanne Woodward

Sure, Joanne Woodward can talk – she’s married to Paul Newman! But look what she really values in her husband: his sense of humor. Our sense of humor will take us far in this life. Laughter is like medicine – it keeps us healthy and feeling good. It’s a way of experiencing joy, and a joyful life is a spiritual life, recognizing and appreciating our connection with the Divine.

Inner Journey:

HARD WORK

“Work should be in order to live. We don’t live in order to work. That shift in awareness is necessary.”
— Matthew Fox

What are your beliefs around work? Do you believe it’s necessary to work hard to earn a living? No pain, no gain? Do you believe women’s work is never done? That play is a waste of time?

While there are merits to the work ethic, over-work takes a serious toll on the quality of our lives. Our ability to contribute to life requires us to have a sense of balance, joy, playfulness, time to stop and smell the flowers.

“Learning to let go of the ways we inadvertently and unconsciously contribute to our own pain is the key to finding radiant physical and emotional health.”
— Ingrid Bacci

“To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.”
— Samuel Butler

“The true object of all human life is play.”

“I think laughter may be a form of courage… As humans we sometimes stand tall and look into the sun and laugh, and I think we are never more brave than when we do that.” -Linda Ellerbee

We can rise above all of our problems. We are bigger than any of them anyway! When things get rough, we have a choice – we can be devastated and beat down, or we can face it head-on and say:”Okay, here we go again. I can take it. I can learn from this. I am growing and I can handle this!” Having a good sense of humor gets us through a lot. It’s just a different way of looking at things, one that recognizes the power that we have over our problems, not the other way around!

Create Positive Patterns: Cat’s Angel Message for June 21, 2017

June Theme: Balance – Focus – Faith

Don’t Criticize, Condemn, or Complain. ~ Dale Carnegie

621: Today is the Summer Solstice (aka Litha or MidSummer) which is the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. There is simply something about summer that makes people feel good. For this reason the angels are asking us to continue the process of manifestation through positive statements, thinking and affirmations. Any statement can be an affirmation so try to stay away from the negative ones. As we work towards transforming our lives remember to make statements in the present tense: I Am, I Have, I Will. Do not allow self criticism to lower your energy, stay focused in self love and confidence. The angels want us to have the best and are always helping behind the scenes and when we do our part they can do theirs!

Try working with some of Ascended Masters associated with the Summer Solstice. Sulis Minerva, Apollo, Horus, Athena, Kali and Isis. The ancient Romans also honored the goddess Fortuna on this day and it’s a great time to acknowledge your blessings. Sacred Stones for the Summer Solstice include Amber, Tiger’s Eye and Jade.

Blessings for a magickal day!
