Today’s Message: Spring! Spring! Spring!

320: Today is Ostara and the Vernal Equinox and the Universe is reminding us about the importance of faith. Sometimes our faith is like the Winter season where things seem barren, empty or even hopeless. We see no results to our prayers or requests. Then all of a sudden things look brighter, more colorful and then we see new beginnings and new growth, just like what happens in Spring. Embrace this new season and see things with a fresh, new perspective. Believe with all your being that even though the results you want are not yet visible the Universe is working behind the scenes, wheels are turning and things are falling into place.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Ariel helps us to embrace our own divine magick which strengthens our manifestation process. Since she works with the earth and environment (nature angels and sprite too) she can help those unfamiliar with the Sacred Feminine work connect with her.

Today we honor the goddesses of Spring (Brigid (the maiden), Freya, Olwen, Blodewedd, Eostre, Persephone/Kore, or Cordielia.)  Spend some time outside today and look for the new growth that symbolizes rebirth and hope.

The Norse goddess Freya celebrates fertility, spring and new growth. She is also a goddess of fate and extends to us an invitation to use your personal magick to create. She says “Feel the pulse of earth beneath your feet and feel the sun upon your face. Draw upon them to enhance your power as you help the tides of fate to weave your destiny.”

The Greek goddess Persephone tells us “Don’t be afraid to unearth what lies beneath. By shedding light in dark or weedy places you often find treasures that you had forgotten. These treasures can form the foundations that you need to navigate your path in life.”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Amber which bestows a positive mental state and helps us find balance, patience and aids in decision making. Use Amber to enhance your earth connection and to promote grounding. It is also a great healing stone (it’s actually tree resin) that helps to remove energetic impurities from the body.

Moss Agate. This gentle stone promotes new beginnings and can help release the blocks that are keeping us from moving forward. It attracts new forms of abundance and teaches us how to channel our energy in new, creative ways. Often referred to as the gardener’s stone Moss Agate helps us connect to nature, the earth, and our own inner garden as well. Carry it with you or wear it during times of new growth.

Citrine. This happy and sunny crystal draws abundance and brings our self confidence forward. It promotes the optimistic mindset necessary to activate the manifestation process and nudges us into action.  We can also use Citrine to help us sift through information and analyze situations so that we can move forward with positive intent. Citrine also helps us go with the flow and encourages us to explore all options so that we can make the best decisions for our journey.

Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

“Come, gentle Spring! Ethereal Mildness! Come.” – James Thomson

320:  Today is Ostara and the Vernal Equinox. Today the Universe is reminding us about the importance of faith. Sometimes our faith is like the Winter season where things seem barren, empty or even hopeless. We see no results to our prayers or requests. Then all of a sudden we see new beginnings and new growth, just like what happens in the Springtime. Embrace this new season and see things with a fresh, new perspective. Believe with all your being that even though the results you want are not yet visible the Universe is working behind the scenes, wheels are turning and things are falling into place.

Today we honor the goddesses of Spring (Brigid (the maiden), Freya, Olwen, Blodewedd, Eostre, Persephone/Kore, or Cordelia.)  Spend some time outside today and look for the new growth that symbolizes rebirth and hope.

The Welsh goddess Cordelia reminds us that every season has its own unique beauty and healing energy. Embrace joy today to help you to escape the stress and let go. “Healing can be found in nature. Allow the beauty that surrounds you to renew your spirit and fill your soul with pure joy.”

The Celtic goddess Brigid helps all who call to her by providing the direction and courage needed to prosper and grow. She says: “Gather the seeds that you have collected and choose the ones that represent your path. Tell me of your dreams and desires as you plant your seeds within your heart and mind and allow fire and light to fill you. Hope and optimism shine like the sun and like the sun they hold powerful energy. This energy will help you find your way as you nurture the seeds in your care”

The Greek goddess Persephone tells us “Don’t be afraid to unearth what lies beneath. By shedding light in dark or weedy places you often find treasures that you had forgotten. These treasures can form the foundations that you need to navigate your path in life.”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Tree Agate (Dendritic) to strengthen your connection to the plant kingdom and help you to enjoy each moment.

Sunstone brings personal empowerment and fights procrastination. It brings out our natural optimism, self confidence and promotes our natural flow of abundance as it soothes our fear of change and the accompanying stress that change can bring. Sunstone has a strong connection to light and helps to harness the re-energizing power of the sun during meditation and everyday life. It is linked to all benevolent deities and brings good fortune and luck.

Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” – Robin Williams

320:  Today is Ostara, The Vernal Equinox and the first day of Spring! The Universe are reminding us about faith. Sometimes our faith is like the Winter season where things seem barren, empty or even hopeless. We see no results to our prayers or requests. Then all of a sudden we see new beginnings and new growth, just like what happens in the Spring time. Embrace this new season and see things with a fresh, new perspective. Today we honor the goddesses of Spring like Brigid (the maiden), Freya, Olwen, Blodewedd, Eostre, Persephone/Kore, or Cordielia. Spend some time outside today and look for the new growth that symbolizes rebirth and hope. The Welsh goddess Cordelia is a deity of nature and  Spring is her season.  She  reminds us that every season has it’s own unique beauty and healing energy. Embrace joy today to help you to escape stress and let go. “Healing can be found in nature. Allow the beauty that surrounds you to renew your spirit and fill your soul with pure joy.”

To honor this new season try using one of the following Sacred Stones and to promote Spring’s essence within.  Tree Agate (Dendritic) to strengthen your connection to the plant kingdom and help you to enjoy each moment. Green Aventurine promotes healing and infuses us with harmony as it balances yin/yang energy. Chrysoprase fills us with the sense of being a part of the divine plan and brings hope and personal insight. Moonstone helps us to see the new beginnings as they happen and Sunstone helps us to connect to the light and promotes a  joyous spirit.

Celtic Tree Month of Alder: March 18th to April 14th.

old-tree-1-1315209

Celtic Tree Month of Alder  or Ffearn (FAIR-n)

Plant Information:

The Alder is a member of the Birch family and is native to the British Isles, Europe and North America. They require a great quantity of water and can reach 65 feet or more if left to grow undisturbed. The tree itself grows in a rough cone shape with branches that are evenly spaced down its long trunk, The leaves are roundish and finely toothed, and in the spring it produces flowers and catkins. The wood from this sacred tree comes in a number of colors. When an alder is cut down the wood changes from white to reddish-yellow that bears a remarkable resemblance to blood. This caused our ancestors to believe that the tree bled when cut and it was considered unlucky to cut one down. The wood itself is oily and water resistant and in past times was used for shields, the foundations for houses and is still used today in cabinetry and door making.

In healing alder has been used as a substitute for quinine. It has also been used to treat parasites, inflammation coughs, poison ivy, toothache, sprains and strains. On an interesting side note the inner bark is a great natural pesticide.

In Myth & Magick

The time surrounding the Vernal Equinox is and was important in the wheel of the Celtic year. Alder good for fairy magick and the leaves and twigs can be used in charms and talismans for protection. While dyes can be made from the bark, flowers and twigs to dye ritual robes. Red: Bark/ Green: Flowers/ Brown: twigs. Alder is associated with all four elements ( earth, air, water, fire) and is great for elemental magick. Flutes can be made from the wood and whistles from young alder shoots can be made to summon air elemental’s. The alder represents free will and liberty. In some places today it is still a crime to cut down this sacred tree. The person who is dumb enough to cut one down is seen as the cause of any trouble that happens in his neighborhood. The alder tree is also associated with courage and the evolution of spirit. This tree spirit can be called upon for help during disputes, where you need to see clearly to make the right decision or when you simply need to draw and bring forward you own inner strength.

Born in the Month of Alder

People born in the month of Alder make excellent oracles, they can tell you like it is and manage to do it gently. However, alder people must remember not to abuse their power, and just like the tree itself they tend to mature slowly. Alders are powerful and make steadfast allies, they are trailblazers who set the pace for others to follow. If you are an alder person, just remember to slow down once in awhile and take a good look around you.

As a magickal name Alder works well for people who tend to be secretive and changeable or for those with fire signs. Choosing this name can bring out sensitivity in people who have trouble letting it show.

A Note from the Universe

OK go ahead and think of the one “thing” that still bugs you. You know, that one issue, challenge, or person who… arghhh, if only the load of it would lighten.

Come on, now. This won’t work if you don’t think of something.

Then repeat after me: “This is better than winning the lottery! What a gift! Because as I use it to understand why it affects me as it does, even though I remain literally cloaked in miracles, powerful beyond measure, and utterly free in this very moment to think and feel and manifest without limit, such new insights, perhaps more than any others I’ve gleaned from my entire life, will make me happier, healthier, and wealthier than I even knew I could hope to be. All because of this gift! Hallelujah! Lucky me! I’ll miss it when it’s gone… sort of.”
You really will –

If winter comes, can spring be far behind? – Percy Bysshe Shelley

320:  Today is Ostara, The Vernal Equinox and the first day of Spring! Today we are working with the Sacred Feminine/ Goddess and she is reminding us about faith. Sometimes our faith is like the Winter season where things seem barren, empty or even hopeless. We see no results to our prayers or requests. Then suddenly we see new beginnings and growth, like Spring. Embrace this new season and see things with a fresh, new perspective. Believe with all your being that even though the results you want are not yet visible the Universe is working behind the scenes, wheels are turning and things are falling into place.

Today we honor the goddesses of Spring like Brigid (the maiden), Freya, Olwen, Blodeuwedd, Eostre, Sita, Persephone/Kore, Lada, Kono-Hana-Sakuya-Hino, Hebe. Spend some time outside today and look for the new growth that symbolizes hope.

To honor this new season and to promote Spring’s essence within use Tree Agate (Dendritic) to strengthen your connection to the plant kingdom and help you to enjoy each moment. Green Aventurine to promote healing and harmony as it balances ouryin/yang energy. Chrysoprase fills us with the sense of being a part of the divine plan and brings hope and personal insight.
