 December’s Theme: It’s time to be proactive about replacing the old with the new. This is more easily done by allowing yourself to use your natural abilities and creativity and by surrounding yourself with love and laughter.

Abundance is everywhere! Stay open and let it flow into your life. ~ Cat

1228: Abundance is something that people ask for quite often (particularly this year). It comes in many forms like love, friendship, spiritual, material gain and of course money. Abundance also comes from sources both expected and unexpected and there are several things to remember about generating abundance:

*In order for it grow we must acknowledge what we have with appreciation.


*We must do our part to make it happen. The Angels will help but they won’t do it for us.


*We must be open to both giving and receiving.


*Don’t fixate on on area or one thing. These kind of demands actually limit how the Universe can help you. While it may happen eventually you will be missing out on a lot more than you realize.


Today the Universe is asking us to think about HOW we ask for blessings of abundance. Instead of making stipulations try asking for “Abundance on all levels”. This allows us to receive more blessings instead of just one. By staying open to all the possibilities it stimulates a steady flow of good things which makes us richer on all levels. Remember………….. don’t sell yourself short or shut yourself off!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Ariel helps us to embrace our own divine magick which strengthens our manifestation process. Since she works with the earth and environment (nature angels and sprite too) she can help those unfamiliar with the Sacred Feminine work connect with her.

The Ascended Master El Morya can help if you have trouble staying present and focused in the now. He teaches us the importance of putting aside what we cannot control so that we are free to think about other things. He reminds us that it is our faith that keeps us grounded so that we can embrace both the patience and the clear decision making needed to make things happen.

The Hindu Goddess Lakshmi teaches us that good things happen when we embrace the world with a grateful and appreciative heart. She tells us ” You are worthy of so many wonderful things but first you must get out of your own way! Let me help you to clear the way so that these gifts can be given to you. Make room and feel the lightness it creates within your spirit.”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Citrine. This happy and sunny crystal draws abundance and brings our self confidence forward. It promotes the optimistic mindset necessary to activate the manifestation process and nudges us into action. We can also use Citrine to help us sift through information and analyze situations so that we can move forward with positive intent. Citrine also helps us go with the flow and encourages us to explore all options so that we can make the best decisions for our journey.

Larimar helps us to see the things that we have to be grateful for and the tiny miracles that we take for granted. This sky blue stone also helps to ease our obsession for material things and shows us how to put things into perspective so that you manifest what you really need. It shows us how to go with the flow.

Sunstone brings personal empowerment and fights procrastination. It brings out our natural optimism, self confidence and promotes our natural flow of abundance as it soothes our fear of change and the accompanying stress that change can bring. Sunstone has a strong connection to light and helps to harness the re-energizing power of the sun during meditation and everyday life. It is linked to all benevolent deities and brings good fortune and luck.

As we prepare to say goodbye to the old year we are given a reminder about hope. Hope is like a spark that lives within us and is something that we must nurture to fully appreciate. The last year has been crazy, scary and often dark but we have persevered and made it through because we have hope that things will get better. It will happen a little at time. Find your “hope spark” and embrace it. Feed it each day with optimistic intentions and loving kindness. Never give up… you’ve totally got this!

1227: As we enter the final days of December the Universe is asking us to remain strong and steady in our faith. Our faith helps us to move forward on our path and brings us both grace and confidence. Remember that faith isn’t inherent to just religious paths, it also includes spirituality. Now through the end of the month, it will be important to pay attention to the messages you receive. If you have hit a rough patch recently or things have been rough for a while, our helpers want us to know that we are cared for. They are here to help and support us and want to see us succeed. Do your best to stay focused on your dreams and desires and don’t let fear and uncertainty get you down. You are never alone so don’t be afraid to ask for guidance or assistance. Your intuitive skills and focus will serve you well today as well. If it feels right then use that information to move forward to help meet your goals.

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Uriel can help us to overcome obstacles by showing us where the solutions are that will lead to our success. The Hindu Goddess White Tara embodies the beauty of Divine love and shows us the path to strengthening or restoring our faith. She says: “Come and sit beside me. I will help ease the worry in your heart and teach you how to replace it with gratitude and joy. This is where faith dwells and we must only open the doors and invite it forward.”

Agate. This humble stone is the perfect one for grounding and balancing our energies. It also helps by raising our consciousness to access our higher self and promoting the awareness and acceptance of who we are and where we want to go in life. It nurtures our spiritual growth and inner strength by helping us to make the most of our life experiences.

Red Jasper helps us to see problems before the get out of hand while promoting new ideas and creative problem solving. It strengthens personal boundaries and keeps us grounded.

Snowflake Obsidian reduces any fear we may have and to keep us focused on better things.

1226: The Universe and it’s helpers assist us in many ways. For example, they help to ensure that our basic material needs are being met. While sometimes it may feel like this isn’t the case, in all reality it is. In today’s society people tend to want more than what they really need to live. It’s an ego thing. If you look around you can probably find a surplus of THINGS that you could do without. (I know I can) When the Universe tells us that our needs are being met it refers to basic necessities like money to pay our bills, food, shelter, clothing etc. They are here to assist, not to provide excess. If we aspire to have more then we need to do our part to make it happen. Working with angels, ascended masters etc. is a partnership. Today we are reminded that our needs are being met for ourselves and our loved ones. Take a moment to offer gratitude for life and for what you have!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Raziel assists us in all forms of manifestation. This includes our ‘Tiny Miracles” which he helps bring forward into the light. He tells us that growth and freedom can be found when we let go of our limiting self beliefs and fears which hold us back from achieving and creating the life we want. He says ” Expand your mind and you will manifest prosperity and abundance on all levels.”

The Ascended Master Solomon helps us to take what we are given and make the most of it. He teaches us how to do things more efficiently as he guides us through difficult situations. Focus and efficiency help us in our quest for personal evolution and help create the necessary stepping stones we need to move ahead.

The Babylonian goddess Ishtar helps us to navigate times of darkens and change. She shows us how to access our courage. She reminds us ” Times of struggle and darkness can be intimidating. and keep you rooted in fear. Remember to stay clear on what is truly important. This focus will shine like a beacon and hold the darkness at bay.”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

Aventurine teaches us how to give and receive gracefully. Both are necessary for healthy relationships with self and others and it allows the Universe to care for you. Aventurine also helps to dispel the anger and irritation that sometimes arise when we are stuck in the “what I lack” mind loop.

Use Carnelian for motivation and increased creativity. It teaches us to trust in ourselves and helps us find creative solutions to current issues as it boosts self esteem and invites us to embrace our personal power while promoting positive life choices which enhance our ability to draw new forms of prosperity and abundance.

Iron Pyrite has a warm, positive energy. It teaches us to have confidence in our skills and abilities so that we are able to realize our true potential by stimulating new ideas and knowledge of our own self worth. Pyrite also helps to balance instinct with innate intuition and overall creativity.

1225: Today the Universe is asking us to perform a self check (it’s been a while since we’ve done one!). Usually, we are checking our balance or our current life path position, but today is a little different. Today’s check involves hidden negatives. We tend to hide things that we don’t like about ourselves, our job our situation or, negative thoughts about ourselves and others. The message is simple ” Hanging on to the negative things in your life offers no benefit to you or your loved ones. The time has come to unearth these things and heal them.” Start looking for those small hurtful places inside. Hold our Winter Solstice message of new beginnings and light in your heart and allow it to activate the self healing process. While this kind of work is never easy it will help us not only on our path, it will also usher in beneficial new blessings. We are never alone, the Goddess, Angels and the Ascended Masters are all here to help!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Chamuel helps us in regards to relationships. This includes the one we have with ourselves and our own spiritual nature. He helps us to build a strong foundation from which we can create our personal evolution. Archangel Chamuel also helps us to find what is lost. If you feel like you have wandered off your path and are having trouble finding your way back he can help you get your bearings.

The Ascended Master Mother Mary provides us with all forms of healing. She surrounds us with her gentle energy and helps to fill our hearts with love as she imparts feelings of peace and safety as she gently heals the dark, hidden places within while showing us the path that leads to compassion and forgiveness which are essential to healing ourselves and helping others. She helps to fill our hearts with peace and love and helps everyone regardless of path or religion.

The Greek goddess Persephone teaches us how to balance between light and dark and the importance of searching the shadows for what is lost or forgotten. Persephone tells us “Don’t be afraid to unearth what lies beneath or has been hidden. By shedding light in dark or weedy places you often find treasures that you had forgotten or set aside. These treasures can form the foundations that you need to navigate your path in life.”

Today’s Sacred Stones include:

While Garnet is best known as a stone of protection it can benefit the use of our natural talents as well. It helps us to overcome any resistance we may have in using our gifts and promotes self-confidence. Garnet removes what no longer serves and mental self-sabotage. It promotes balance and clears and re-energizes the chakras.

Black Obsidian. This stone not only protects it also helps to bring negative energy to the surface where it can be dispelled and provides support during times of change. It takes the “things” that we’ve hidden and composts them into positive soil to support out new growth.

Unakite. This green and pink stone helps us to see blocks that we have erected within ourselves and then provides valuable insights on removing them so that we can move forward. It helps us to appreciate and gain clarity from the present moment and works with both base and heart chakras.

Through our family we can see our connection to the world. And as our family grows, with children and grandchildren, cousins and in-laws, we are presented with more opportunities for learning and growth. It’s interesting that there has been a rise in the popularity of genealogy and family tree research lately. Through these studies our connections throughout time become apparent. The world becomes smaller, and we don’t feel as isolated when we start looking at our roots.

BIRCH LORE

Birch is the beginning of all things (life) and it is opposite of last months tree Elder (death). This month is symbolized by the unconscious self and raw wild force of the natural world. The tree itself is a symbol of birth, initiation and sacrifice. It is also associated with horned animals like goats and stags as well as the Horned Gods like Cernunnos, Dagda and Pan. Other names for this tree are Tree of Birth, Lady of the Woods. The Irish Gaelic word for this tree is “Beith”, which is derived from “Achadhbeith” meaning “the field of birch trees.

TREE INFORMATION

This tree is very common in Europe where it is known as the Silver Birch, it is also grown in North America under the name “weeping birch”. The leaves are long and egg shaped with notched edges. The slender trees have silvery white bark which is close to the color of poplar and aspen and to the untrained eye these trees may look the same. Birch can grow up to 100 feet in height and will do so unless they can take over their favorite soil which tends to be sandy, in which case they like to spread out in low clumps. In fact birch trees grow so well that they are the first new trees to sprout up in cut areas. This may be the reason that they are associated with rebirth and birth.

BIRCH IN HEALING

This tree does have a few healing properties. The inner bark is said to be a good pain reliever as are the leaves which as tea, can be used for rheumatism. The sap produces syrup and from the bark comes flour and beer.

BIRCH IN MAGIC & MYTH

Birch is particularly useful for spells involving healing, fertility, new beginnings, blessings, protection, growth, love, and creative inspiration. It is also one of the nine sacred woods used in the sabbat fire and is a representation of the Goddess. Charms made of birch twigs were given to newlyweds to promote fertility and cattle were lightly struck with birch rods for the same reason. Brooms were traditionally made from birch, the twigs were called “Besom twigs” and love spells can be written on strips of birch bark that have been gathered during the new moon. This tree also plays an important role in the pagan tradition of jumping the broomstick which is part of the handfasting ceremony.

The birch can be found in folklore as well. Baby cradles were made from birch wood because it was thought to protect the innocent. On the Isle of Man criminals and lunatics were “birched” in a serious effort to drive out evil.

In Wales during the 13th-14th Centuries lovers were said to meet under these trees in the “house of leaves”. As a token a remembrance for these occasions wreaths would be made from the leaves of the tree. There is also and English/ Irish custom that took place on December 26th called “the huntin gof the wren.” The old year or the “wren” was hunted down by the new year which was symbolized by the robin, and was said to carry a birch twig in it’s claws.

To choose Birch as a magical name is cleansing and promotes your inner light. It would be a good name for a caregiver or for someone who seeks to make positive changes in politic for social issues.
