430: As we close out the month of April we are receiving a big thumbs up the Universe and its helpers! The internal and external work that we are doing is beginning to pay off and we are starting to see the results of our efforts. Creating personal change is never easy. However, we have learned that we have the support of the entire universe and that we can call upon it at any time and for assistance in any matter. The work we have done so far will begin to show results both large and small in the new month so this a perfect time to engage in some personal down-time to make ready for the next phase. remember to ground, center, and clear then give yourself a big hug for all you have accomplished!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Haniel showers us with stardust, illuminating our thoughts and memories so that we can remember what magickal beings we truly are, which assists us in the creation process. In turn, this shows us how to receive with grace and gratitude. This process accelerates when we allow beauty and harmony to surround us. It’ helps us to enjoy ourselves which makes blessings easier to receive.

Letting go is not easy. By making peace within ourselves it assists us in making the space we need to accept new blessings. ~Cat

429: Over the last month, we have been working on two things: letting go of what no longer serves us and in strengthening our faith in the Universe and in ourselves. When these things are combined we are creating new opportunities that will open new doors. The angels are helping us now by placing these doors (and windows) of opportunity in our path. Your mission should you accept it is to grab what’s offered before the circle moves on and the doors close. Remember that if you miss out on these opportunities they will eventually come back around, although it may not be what you want or need any longer when it does. If you are offered something that you have been waiting for be sure to grab it before it disappears!

Today’s Spirit Helpers include:

Archangel Michael teaches us that through compassion and commitment to our beliefs we can lead effectively through example. He sets us on the path of commitment to our purpose by showing us how to work through obstacles that pop up as he teaches us that we have what it takes to create new things for ourselves as he helps us reach new levels of self confidence.

While Garnet is best known as a stone of protection it can benefit the use of our natural talents as well. It helps us to overcome any resistance we may have in using our gifts and promotes self-confidence. Garnet removes what no longer serves and mental self-sabotage. It promotes balance and clears and re-energizes the chakras.

Howlite helps us to formulate and achieve our ambitions and goals. It helps us to communicate these things in a calm and reasonable manner and tempers this with patience. Howlite also creates a link to the universal realms and prepares the mind to receive guidance.

Iolite, also known as “Poor Man’s Amethyst” is a stone of vision that assists our intuition and aids us in setting things in motion by staying true to yourself and your path while freeing you from the expectations of others. It helps us to live in the moment making it easier to snag the blessings given to us. It is also a soothing stone that calms emotions during times of change.

The Beltane Fire

The lighting of the Beltane fire is one of the most widely known Celtic traditions for this Sabbat. On May Eve (April 30) people would put out their hearth fires, then on Beltane (May 1) they would relight them from the celebratory bonfires. The dousing and relighting of the hearth fires was done on each of the fire festivals not just Beltane as according to druid lore.

The Beltane bonfires were lit as a symbol of the return of the sun for the summer half of the year. Nine sacred woods were used to start the fires and each wood has its own magickal properties. The names of the wood to be used appears in the song versions of the Witches Rede, while the shorter versions contain the first sentence.

“Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch wood in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest, towers with might in the fire it brings the God’s insight.
Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning- adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.
But – Elder is the Lady’s tree burn it not or cursed you’ll be.”

When the fires were lit the people would gather and the dancing would begin. They would dance around the fires, spiraling in and out. The next custom involved jumping the bonfires this would ensure a successful growing season and a prosperous summer. according to Druid lore the men would jump first, followed by the women. Lastly, the herd animals would be driven through the embers for protection and purification.

Oak~ symbolizes the God and male energy
Birch~ symbolizes the Goddess and female energy
Rowan or Mountian Ash~ Symbolizes life
Hazel~ symbolizes wisdom and knowledge
Willow~ symbolizes death and the otherworld
Hawthorn~ symbolizes fairy magick and purity
Vine~ symbolizes happiness and joy
Fir~ symbolizes birth and rebirth
Apple~ symbolizes family and love

The sacred Beltane fire can also be made in your altar cauldron and you would only need a few chips or shavings from each of the 9 woods. Since not everyone has access to wood chips let alone 9 different kinds, you could use herbs instead. Choose herbs that correspond with each of the woods needed. Believe me, the Lady and Lord understand and will smile upon your effort!

428: Abundance comes in many forms (material gain, money, friends, love, and necessities) to name just a few. However, we quite often find ourselves concentrating on only a single form of abundance. The key to true abundance lies in being open to it and inviting ALL forms into your life. While we all need specific help at times staying open will always serve us best. The Angels are telling us ” Do not place limits and conditions on our requests. These things keep us from supplying you with the steady flow of abundance that we are capable of providing.” By staying open and allowing ourselves to receive we find that we are richer on all levels which makes us more complete. Reap the benefits of your request by simply asking for blessings of abundance on all levels!

Archangel Raziel can assist us in both embracing our unique divine magic and in the overall manifestation process.
