Thought For The Day: Feb. 26, 2020 “To Heal or Harm”

Happy Wednesday,

Words are a superpower and with them, we have the power to heal or cause harm. Today be mindful of your words and choose them with care. If someone tries to use their evil superpower to ruin your day don’t let them. Thwart them by responding with a pleasant comeback. Leave them scratching their heads and wondering “What the heck just happened?” Reaction is 95% to having a good day. You have choices, so choose wisely.

QUESTIONS THAT AREN’T HELPFUL

“We accept many notions because they seem to be the logical answers to our questions. But have we asked the right questions?”
— Harold L. Klawans

Sometimes we ask questions for which we really don’t want the answer! Nonetheless, when we ask a question, our subconscious minds will get to work to answer us.

Here are some examples of questions we want to avoid:
• What’s wrong with me?
• How long could this take?
• What could go wrong?
• How much trouble could it be?
• How hard could it be?

Asking questions can be empowering – as long as they’re smart questions!

“The uncreative mind can spot wrong answers, but it takes a very creative mind to spot wrong questions.”

A Note from the Universe

How’d you like a little peek into the future? Oh, I really shouldn’t, but you so rock, I figure this indulgence, just once, will be all right.

You’re sitting around a warm and cozy fireplace surrounded by friends and boisterous laughter. Early-morning snow gently falling across the countryside is visible from the enormous, ceiling-high windows beside you. Everyone is sipping hot chocolate, and reminiscing about the fabulous circumstances that have brought you together, brimming with even more excitement for times to come. And then you chime in, “If only we knew how inevitable this all was, we never would have worried so much. If only we had the slightest inkling that our challenges, lacks, and issues would sooner make possible the whirlwind of events that swiftly followed… we’d have been as proud then, as we are now.”

And then everyone nods and laughs thoughtfully, and starts taking selfies.

Sharing

“Sharing what you have is more important than what you have.”

-Albert M. Wells, Jr.

Sharing is not limited to material things. We can share our memories, experiences, and knowledge for example. The beauty in this is that we aren’t giving those things away – we couldn’t if we tried! But they are so valuable, and they become even more valuable when we share them with other people. The most simple advice can be such a treasure. The fact that we are open and willing to share what we have learned can make this journey more beneficial for all of us.

Thought For The Day: February 25, 2020 “The Big Picture”

Happy Tuesday,

Focusing on what we want can be a good thing. It is, after all, a part of the creation process. However, it’s easy to get caught up in. In fact, we can be so focused on what we want that we become unhappy with our lives. The key lies in balancing what we have and what we want. So as we create it’s important to remember the good things we have right now. This opens more doors and allows us to see the big picture instead of a single slide.

HOW MUCH OF THIS IS MINE?

“The collective energy generated from the feelings, thoughts, and attitudes of the almost six billion people on this planet creates an atmosphere or ‘consciousness climate.’ Surrounding us like the air we breathe, this consciousness climate affects us most strongly on energetic and emotional levels.”
— Doc Childre and Howard Martin

Feeling angry, sad or anxious? You might ask, “How much of this is mine?”

Those of us who are sensitive sometimes pick up on emotional, mental or physical energy in the environment. It feels like ours – we really do feel the emotions or physical or mental symptoms. But really, we are processing ‘generic’ energies that belong to others or to humanity as a whole.

Opening to the possibility that our experiences may not be completely ours helps us detach from them. When we don’t completely identify with our thoughts and feeling

There will always be haters and shamers with their opinions of how we should look, what we should do and how we should act. It can be hard to deal with particularly if it comes from someone close to us. This quote tells us to always be ourselves. When someone gives advice the key lies in our ability to weed out what is true and what is not. Don’t go belly up and blindly accept critical opinions. Have faith in yourself and in your abilities.

ONE STEP AT A TIME

“What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.”
— Antoine De Saint-Exupery
Does the prospect of changing and growing seem monumental to you? Just too much to tackle?
Then consider this approach. Take a simple step of affirming your openness to experience more or something new. Or a different first step might be to let go of judgment by embracing the neutral. Begin to see the people, activities and things around you as neither good nor bad.
A journey is made of many small steps. Don’t focus on a far-off destination if you’re not clear how to get there. Build a foundation that is solid for you. We get to new places one step at a time.

“In the first grade, I already know the pattern of my life. I didn’t know the living of it, but I knew the line…. From the first day in school until the day I graduated, everyone gave me one hundred plus in art. Well, where do you go in life? You go to the place where you got one hundred plus.”

-Louise Nevelson, 1976

What usually happens, is that we are really good at doing what we love to do – so we do it more often and become even better at it! Maybe we love doing it because we’re good at it, or the other way around, but it doesn’t matter. The idea is to find our “thing,” whatever that happens to be, and do it!

Find a way to inject an artistic touch to whatever you’re doing and get extra satisfaction and have greater success at what you’re doing. You may not think of yourself as artistic, but it will be hard to hide or resist your creative side today. Even the most mundane and boring tasks can be made more pleasant by adding a dash of artistic expression. Within reason and appropriateness, let it shine!

Thought For The Day: February 20, 2020 “What Living Requires”

Happy Thursday,

Criticism is part of life. Nobody likes it but it happens anyway. This quote from Aristotle tells us “how” to avoid criticism, but does it really? Living requires us to do things, speak up and make the most of ourselves even though we may be criticized for it. The opinions and judgments of others should hold no sway as we create our lives and work on our personal evolution. Good things happen when we try. Don’t be afraid and never give up!
