August’s Full Corn Moon
Aug 3, 2020 at 8:58 am PST/ 9:58 am MST/ 11;58 am EST (Note: The moon will appear full on BOTH Sunday and Monday night!)
The energy of the August moon is going to cause a bit of a shakeup due to Uranus squaring up with the Sun. This can make us feel a bit wobbly
____________________________ Spirit Library: Something New Is Forming (a message from Kate Spreckley)
In the second half of 2020 humanity’s process of evolutionary growth is accelerating at a much greater pace. The intense energy we have experienced over the last few months is radically quickening our processes and creating deep and lasting change.
The Wicker Man is a giant effigy allegedly used by the Druids to perform human sacrifice, according to the writings of Julius Caesar. He mentions it as one method in which the Celts performed rituals, but other than Caesar’s observations there is little scholarly corroboration. In recent years, some of Caesar’s accounts have been disputed by modern academics.

Elephant Journal: 3 Things our Rising Signs reveal about our Souls.
What the heck is my rising sign?
A lot of people newer to astrology are not completely familiar with a rising sign and even some of the more “well-seasoned” astrology nerds (yes, I am an astrology nerd) are still not entirely aware of just how much our rising sign can affect the whole of our natal charts (or “life map” as I like to refer to it).
Lemurs are easy to love. They’re cute, charismatic, and oddly humanlike, which isn’t just a coincidence. Lemurs are primates like us, and while they’re not as closely related to people as chimpanzees and other apes are, they’re still family.

TRANSFORMATION
“The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
— William Faulkner
Longing for a miracle that will transform your life? Miracles happen, and if we don’t want that magic to disappear on us, we need to learn from each epiphany — to integrate it, apply it, and build on it so we can permanently shift to a new level of being.
The real key to fulfillment lies in ONGOING transformation: building our awareness of daily opportunities to change our perceptions and raise our consciousness. Life is about dissolving the old and creating anew. The more we open to accepting and learning from every life experience, the more our lives transform.
“Enlightenment must come little by little — otherwise it would overwhelm.”

Interdependence
“One life stamps and influences another, which in turn stamps and influences another, on and on, until the soul of human experience breathes on in generations we’ll never even meet.”
-Mary Kay Blakely, 1989
Yes, we are independent, as people and as a nation, and at the same time we are interdependent. We rely on each other. We support and sustain one another. Each person, independently, makes contributions that have far-reaching effects. It’s the pebble in the pond example, where the ripples are felt for a long time after the stone has landed
Possibly a romantically disquieting day, you may begin to suspect that your love is not being returned, at least not in kind. Or perhaps you can’t bring yourself to return the affections of an ardent admirer. This might feel even worse. The head and heart don’t always speak the same language or have the same opinions. Be strong and as kind as you can.

A Little Nudge: Cat’s Angel Message for August 3, 2020
August Theme: Positive focus and creative solutions help to draw both prosperity and abundance this month. You are a powerful creator and all that you need is within your grasp!
There is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes all we need is a little nudge in the right direction.~Cat
83: Assistance comes in various forms especially where prosperity and abundance are concerned. The Ascended Masters (AM’s) are requesting that we open our connection with them and allow them to help us today. As they walk the path with us simply ask for guidance and the ability to see valuable assistance in whatever form it takes. The AM’s can also help us to focus on the divine spark that lives within each of us. This helps to create a positive energy flow which is an important factor when dealing with our ability to create and manifest. The other tool we have at our disposal is creative thought which enables us to visualize new possibilities and put them to use. Stay focused open and take joy in walking the lighter side today!
Today’s Spiritual Helpers include:
Archangel Raziel assists us in all forms of manifestation. This includes our ‘Tiny Miracles” which he helps bring forward into the light. He tells us that growth and freedom can be found when we let go of our limiting self-beliefs and fears which hold us back from achieving and creating the life we want. He says ” Expand your mind and you will manifest prosperity and abundance on all levels.
The Ascended Master El Morya can help if you have trouble staying present and focused in the now. He teaches us the importance of putting aside what we cannot control so that we are free to think about other things. He reminds us that it is our faith that keeps us grounded so that we can embrace both the patience and the clear decision making needed to make things happen
The Mayan goddess Ixchel helps to get our creative juices flowing by breaking through the barriers we have erected that are blocking our progress. Call on her if you are starting something new. ” Clear your mind and allow the creative source to fill you. New things are waiting for you to embrace them!”
Our Sacred Stones for today include:
Green Calcitealso helps to create harmony which allows us to dissolve rigid beliefs and outdated programming. It promotes mental balance, aids in communication, and gently helps us to let go of the things that no longer serve us which helps us to draw the good things into our lives that encourage growth.
Blue-Green Chrysocolla helps make smooth transitions and helps us to accept change with serenity by inviting the energy of universal love into our personal experiences. It brings our inner strength and self-awareness forward which keeps our energy balanced and our creative side active which allows us to handle change more effectively.
Larimar which helps to ease our obsession for material things and shows us how to put things into perspective so that you manifest what you really need. It shows us how to go with the flow.
Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

Happiness is a state of mind that often feels elusive. So what does it take to experience true happiness? A little FAITH, the ability to live in GRATITUDE, and to embrace our GIFTS. It can be found when we BELIEVE in ourselves and when we share the unique ENERGY that is ours. You’ve totally got this and deserve true happiness. Welcome it in!
This can make us feel a bit wobbly. This energy will help us in a gentle fashion to let go of things that are no longer in our best interest it will provide clarity and help us to find the answers we need. This overall energy will continue to build toward the “Lions Gate” on August 8th which will be a time of supercharged energy.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac calls this moon the Sturgeon Moon because the Native people of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain knew this was the best time to catch these big fish. I have also seen it called the Barley Moon or Corn Moon as this moon is also associated with grain and the rebirth we celebrated at Lughnasadh.
Other names for this moon are Dog’s Day Moon (Colonial American), Harvest Moon (China), Fruit Moon (Cherokee), Women’s Moon (Choctaw), Moon When All Things Ripen (Dakotah), Dispute Moon (Celtic), Lightning Moon (Pagan).
Carry the harvest theme over into your magickal workings for the day. What can you sacrifice (harvest) today that will help to sustain you in the future? Spiritual and physical health are also good areas to work on at this time.

Let’s Get Creative: Cat’s Angel Message for August 2, 2020
August Theme: Positive focus and creative solutions help to draw both prosperity and abundance this month. You are a powerful creator and all that you need is within your grasp!
By using your power as a creator you can clear the pathways to your success.~Cat
82: One of this month’s keywords is “Creative”. Most people don’t connect creative energy with prosperity and abundance. The creative thinking person combines the Attitude of Gratitude with new ways to solve the issue of lack. We can always call upon the Angels for assistance although we must remember that they will supply us with only what we need. We are being reminded today that our creative energy is enhanced through faith in ourselves, in our abilities, and in the Universe. If we desire more then we must do our part to get the manifestation process rolling. However, by working together with the Universe the wheels continue to turn and things move in our favor. Take an active roll in creating your life by staying open to receiving new ideas, and then let your creativity run wild!
Today’s Spirit Helpers include:
Archangel Jophiel the angel of Illumination and wisdom, fills us with beautiful, loving thoughts and uplifting energy which helps us to create a fresh approach to life. Jophiel tells us that goodness and beauty surround us all the time. By keeping ourselves open to receiving these blessings it draws the things we need directly to us. This is a reminder that slowing down activates our creative mind and makes these things easier to visualize and grasp and by taking the time to “smell the roses” the attitude of gratitude flows more easily.
The Ascended Master Sanat Kumara teaches us that we have an unlimited supply of personal power and helps us find the energy we need to keep going and rise above negative experiences and thought patterns. This gives us the skills we need to strengthen our personal boundaries so that we can be and stay strong in situations where we need to be.
The Egyptian goddess Hathor helps us to find the answer to the question “How shall I live my life?” She tells us that every moment gives us opportunities for growth. ” Indecision can be your enemy, whose goal is to keep you distracted and from hearing the voice of your heart Remember that each moment gives you the opportunity to learn and grow. It is what you were made for!”
Today’s Sacred Stones include:
Agate. This humble stone is the perfect one for grounding and balancing our energies. It also helps by raising our consciousness to access our higher self and promoting the awareness and acceptance of who we are and where we want to go in life. It nurtures our spiritual growth and inner strength by helping us to make the most of our life experiences.
Aventurine teaches us how to give and receive gracefully. Both are necessary for healthy relationships with self and others and it allows the Universe to care for you. Aventurine also helps to dispel the anger and irritation that sometimes arise when we are stuck in the “what I lack” mind loop. This stone is also associated with Archangel Jophiel.
Carnelian is used for motivation and increased creativity. It teaches us to trust in ourselves and helps us find creative solutions to current issues as it boosts self-esteem and invites us to embrace our personal power while promoting positive life choices which enhance our ability to draw new forms of prosperity and abundance.
Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

New cycles equal new opportunities for growth. Look for the things that you have accomplished and put that momentum to good use!~Cat

It teaches us to trust in ourselves and helps us find creative solutions to current issues as it boosts self-esteem and invites us to embrace our personal power while promoting positive life choices which enhance our ability to draw new forms of prosperity and abundance.
While Garnet is best known as a stone of protection it can benefit the use of our natural talents as well. It helps us to overcome any resistance we may have in using our gifts and promotes self-confidence. Garnet removes what no longer serves and mental self-sabotage. It promotes balance and clears and re-energizes the chakras.
Jade can provide aid in problem-solving and shows us the path to reaching our goals and actualizing our dreams. It also promotes emotional balance and self-confidence as it gently dissipates negativity and brings peace on all levels. Jade which attracts both prosperity and good luck. Jade helps us to understand that we are spiritual beings on this very human journey we call life. It stimulates knowledge and ideas.

The celebration of Lughnasadh marks the first harvest celebration of the season. The strength of the sun is in decline and the days are getting shorter. It is the time of the “sacrificial god”. Exemplore: Seven Crystals for Lammas (author: Claire)
Lammas is also known as Lughnasadh and is the first of the three pagan harvest festivals. It is considered a time of giving thanks as the sun’s strength begins to wane and the spring crops become ready for harvest. There is a feeling of abundance at Lammas, but it is important to remember the long winter that is to come and that many of the crops must be prepared and stored in preparation.
In English folklore, John Barleycorn is a character who represents the crop of barley harvested each autumn. Equally as important, he symbolizes the wonderful drinks which can be made from barley—beer and whiskey—and their effects.
When Lammastide rolls around, the fields are full and fertile. Crops are abundant, and the late summer harvest is ripe for the picking. This is the time when the first grains are threshed, apples are plump in the trees, and gardens are overflowing with summer bounty.
Pagan Library: The Coming of Lugh Iarwain
Lugh the Il-Dana came to the Tara
Lugh Samildanach came to the palace of the Tutha De
Lugh, master of all arts, came to Eireann
The gate keeper did not recognize Lugh
The gate keeper asked the Il-Dana his name
The gate keeper asked Lugh Samildanach what skill he possessed.
“‘Lughnassad’ means ‘the funeral games of Lugh’, referring to Lugh, the Irish sun god. However, the funeral is not his own, but the funeral games he hosts in honor of his foster-mother Tailte. For that reason, the traditional Tailtean craft fairs and Tailtean marriages (which last for a year and a day) are celebrated at this time. As autumn begins, the Sun God enters his old age, but is not yet dead. It is also a celebration of the first harvest. The Christian religion adopted this theme and called it ‘Lammas’, meaning ‘loaf-mass’, a time when newly baked loaves of bread are placed on the altar. An alternative date around August 5 (Old Lammas), when the sun reaches 15 degrees Leo, is sometimes employed by Covens.”

MBG: 7 Late Summer Rituals For Celebrating Abundance & Transformation
In the northern hemisphere, August is a month that many people spend cooling off on the beach or barbecuing in the backyard. Yet, we forget that the month historically signaled the start of the harvest season and the time to collect the first crops of grain, wheat, and oats.
________________________ Patheos-Pagan: Making Bread at Lammas
Lammas (often used interchangeably with Lughnasadh to refer to August 1st) holds a special place in my heart. The heat might make summer my least favorite season, but Lammas marks the slow decline into fall. And, being a lover of baking bread, how could I not like this Sabbat?
“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.”
— Annie Dillard
We lose the power of the moment because we’re so rarely in it. We’re reliving the past or speculating about the future. We continue to believe that tomorrow’s the day when I’ll be more capable, more wealthy, more fit and more loving. Meanwhile, I’m just putting in time, dreaming of better things but not making any concrete move to realize them.
When you find yourself thinking of the future or the past, bring your awareness into the present moment. Really experience how you feel and what’s happening around you, without judgment. If we can treasure each moment, our lives will be rich, no matter what we have accomplished.
“Lost, yesterday, somewhere between sunrise and sunset, two golden hours, each set with sixty diamond minutes. No reward is offered for they are gone forever.”
— Horace Mann
“If, before going to bed every night, you will tear a page from the calendar, and remark, ‘there goes another day of my life, never to return,’ you will become time conscious.”

Your Irish: Festival of Lughnasadh
The Celtic festival of Lughnasadh (from the old Gaelic Lugh the pagan God and nasad meaning assembly), Lughnasa or in old English, Lammas ( meaning loaf mass) is celebrated around the 1st August or roughly halfway between the summer solstice and the autumn equinox. It celebrates the first harvest of the year and the passing of summer into autumn.

Raise the Horns: Why No One Loves Lammas (& Lughnasadh)
It’s Lammas time, and I see lots of posts on social media about bread and harvests, but there’s always a bit of a disconnect for many of us. I might try to bake some bread for the holiday, and my garden is showing signs of life;there are tomatoes on the vine, sunflowers approaching six feet tall, and I’ve got a few small pumpkins the size of at least softballs.
Embrace now as a joyful day. At the start, look in the mirror and see the joy that’s already in your eyes. Work with contentment, spend quality time with friends and family, and share your love of life with every stranger you meet. You don’t have to be overbearing and surprise people with your happiness. What you truly feel will shine on its own. The little things may bring you the most joy.
