Give me the splendid silent sun with all his beams full-dazzling,
Give me juicy autumnal fruit ripe and red from the orchard,
Give me a field where the unmowed grass grows,
Give me an arbor, give me the trellised grape.
–Walt Whitman (1919–92)

ThoughtCo: Hestia, Greek Goddess of the Hearth
The Greek goddess Hestia watches over domesticity and the family, and was traditionally honored with the first offering at any sacrifice made in the home. On a public level, Hestia’s flame was never allowed to burn out. The local town hall served as a shrine for her—and any time a new settlement was formed, settlers would take a flame from their old village to the new one
MBG: Flower Power Alert: Here’s How To Dye Your Own Clothes Using Plants
When I was a student of herbalism, I learned that fabric had traditionally been dyed using the same plants that I was growing and cultivating. Needless to say, I started geeking out! When I dove into it further, I realized that compared to conventional dyes, which can be really harmful to water systems and loaded with chemicals, plant dyes are much better for the planet. Now, I run a clothing business and use plants to not only sustainably dye my fabrics—but to infuse them with naturally grounding energy.

MNN: 8 things you didn’t know about the autumnal equinox
If you’ve ever wondered what hamsters and the French Revolution have to do with the first day of fall, we’ve got the answers.
The Northern Hemisphere will bid an official farewell to summer on the morning of Sept. 23 and welcome in the fall. At precisely 3:50 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, the sun will be directly in line with Earth’s celestial equator (the equator projected onto the sky) and day and night will last roughly the same amount of time.
EarthSky News: Harvest Moon on Friday the 13th
On September 12, 13 and 14, 2019, look for a full-looking moon to light up the nighttime sky from dusk until dawn. Depending on where you live worldwide (your time zone), this month’s full moon will fall on Friday, September 13, or Saturday, September 14. For the Northern Hemisphere, this September full moon counts as the closest full moon to the September autumn equinox, so it’s the Northern Hemisphere’s full Harvest Moon. For many, it’ll be a Friday the 13th Harvest Moon … great party theme!

ON DEATH AND DYING
“Don’t strew me with roses after I’m dead. When Death claims the light of my brow No flowers of life will cheer me: instead You may give me my roses now!”
— Thomas F. Healey
“The call of death is a call of love. Death can be sweet if we answer it in the affirmative, if we accept it as one of the great eternal forms of life and transformation.”
— Hermann Hesse
“What is here is also there; what is there, is also here. Who sees multiplicity but not the one indivisible Self must wander on and on from death to death.”
— Katha Upanishad
“Is death the last step? No, it is the final awakening.”
— Sir Walter Scott
A Note from the Universe
For all things and non-things that you may ever want understand that sometimes the fastest way to get them is to forget them, and to focus instead on just being the most amazing human being you can be. At which point all of your heart’s desires, spoken or unspoken, will be drawn to you more powerfully than a magnet is drawn to steel.
Have an amazing day,

“Death and life have their determined appointments; riches and honors depend upon heaven.”
-Confucius (550-478 B.C.)
To me this says that we are here on this earth at this particular time for a reason. We have kept our appointment. What we do with the time we have here is up to us. The rewards are not necessarily material, but much more valuable- our spiritual growth, the love and fulfillment we find and create for ourselves. We have choices in how we spend our time, and the lessons we learn along the way are our bounty.
Daily Tarot: The Pope
People may look to you to get some enthusiasm back into their lives. If sagging a little in spirit yourself, you can still inspire others. This can cheer you up, too, so don’t underestimate a small glimmer of joy in something that you genuinely love. No one has to agree with you. They only have to allow you to do what feels best to you – and you to them.
