It symbolizes fire and puirification, the quickening of the earth, and flows of milk for the baby Sun God. This is a time for initiation, dedication, re-affirmation and burning the Yule greens.
Colors for Imbolc: White, yellow or light blue
Herbs and Incense for Imbolc: Bay, basil, benzoin, angelicia, myrrh, blackberry, celandine, heather, iris, violet
Food and Drink for Imbolc: Dairy products, raisins, creamy soups, olives, leeks/shallots. White wine, milk, soy milk or water
Imbolc is the festival of “When the ewes lactate” and is the mid-point of the dark part of the year. Brigid’s fire that she kindled at Yule is now evident in the pregnancy of the herd animals and the fullness of their udders. It also celebrates the waiting bride of the Sun God.
Farm tools are consecrated at this time of year, home fires are put out and relit as are the smithy fires. Both are blessed.
This is the time to make Brigid’s crosses for yourself and for others as protective charms for the home. Brigid’s snake emerges from the Earth Mothers womb to see what the weather will be– if this sounds familiar, it should as this is the origin of Groundhogs Day!
If you made a corn dollie for Lughnasadh, you should make a Brides bed the evening of Feb 1st. She should be dressed in white or blue and placed in a basket near the hearth. The Celts would toss nuts into the basket as fertility symbols.
Lighting of a Candle Wheel ( an evergreen wreath that hold candles) as a form of sympathetic magick to lure the God back to us.
**Note ** As with any ritual using candles please use caution and never leave them unattended.

There are a lot of analogies along these lines. “Go out on a limb, that’s where the fruit is!” The fruit that falls is ready and ripe – but it is ready and ripe before it falls. Sometimes a little shake is just what it needs to get it where it needs to be! Otherwise it might rot on the vine. Heathy Boundaries: Cat’s Angel Message for January 28, 2021
January’s Theme: Stay focused on your desires and not your fears or past happenings. Our thoughts are ready to manifest into reality and by staying focused on what’s positive we lessen the power of the things that we fear.
128: Drama, it’s everywhere. Today the Universe is gently reminding us that when we get caught up everyday dramas we lose our focus and our momentum. Let yourself rise above these distractions and direct your energy into creating new opportunities, opening new doors or simple the things that bring you peace.. To take advantage of these blessings we must be willing to let go of old habits and thought patterns. Both of which can be centered around the dramas (direct and indirectly) taking place in our lives. Allow you inner wisdom to guide you as it will keep you from getting sidetracked. Remember to stay flexible because when one door opens another closes. This initiates and activates growth and opportunity. Remember, the angels will not do this for you and you must do your part to make things happen. The combination of thoughts, actions and energies will all play a major role in our overall success and the key is in creating boundaries and maintaining focus while keeping an optimistic outlook to make things flow.
Today’s Spirit Helpers include:
Archangel Raguel helps us when we are faced with standing our ground. He can show us the path to resolving disputes and arguments in a peaceful manner. He also acts as a motivational coach when we feel down on ourselves and he loves to help the underdog.
The Ascended Master, Saint Padre Pio, keeps us on the path of spiritual and personal growth. As we continue to grow so do our abilities like intuition, compassion, and seeing through the eyes of love. His energy is strong and optimistic which helps to boost our faith and confidence.
The Hindu Mother Goddess Durga teaches us how to create boundaries and maintain them as well as protecting yourself from the negative energy of others. She says: ” Personal boundaries are important to your well being. It is sometimes best to walk away. I can help you to step back and give you the self assurance to do what is in your best interest.”
Today’s Sacred Stones include:
Fire Agate. This stone allows you to embrace feelings of safety and trust as you navigate your path. It keeps us grounded and offers support when times get hard. This stone is also beneficial in returning the harmful and negative energy sent by others.
Chalcedony that brings mind, body, spirit and emotions into harmony by calming fear, anger or self doubt. It also promotes good feeling towards self and others.
Rose Quartz today to bring inner peace and harmony. The energy of this stone is very soothing and can help calm frazzled nerves. It helps to promotes the softer, move loving view that we need to embrace gratitude, it soothes and clears the emotions and fills us with loving compassion. It works with the heart chakra to gently wash away negative feelings that we harbor against ourselves and lifts the emotions to promote joy and peace. It opens our heart and shows us the love in relationships and situations, which helps us find a balancing point Use this gentle stone to shower yourself with loving care and to send healing to those little places that most need it.
Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

Elephant Journal: How to be like Peter Pan: 7 Ways to Awaken your Inner Child.
As J.M. Barrie wrote in his book Peter Pan: all children, except one, grow up. Everyone except Peter himself, who retains his childlike innocence and wonder. Lately, I’ve realized I need to reclaim some of that wonder.
One of the largest mammals in North America, male elk can weigh well over 700 pounds, though they generally lose weight during the winter breeding season. Females tend to be lighter, usually averaging around 500 pounds.
It’s easy to take a cursory glance at social media and leave with the impression that learning to practicing witchcraft will cost you a lot of money, and certainly there are plenty of us that enjoy formalizing courses, specialized tools, and elaborate altars.

Everything — absolutely everything — that happens in our lives has a spiritual cause. Mental, emotional and physical events are only effects.
When we are struggling with any challenge, whether it be ill health, a lack of money, a lost job, relationships, an accident, whatever — we need to look for the spiritual learning. We can ask ourselves, “What quality does my soul want me to live more fully?”

A Note from the Universe
There’s someone here, very wise and very caring. who’s not yet lived in time and space, who has a question for all those who have:
“Does the fact that each earthly life is so incredibly brief add to or detract from its sublime magnificence?”
Yeah, I said “add to” as well, but I was in a hurry…

Challenge “Providence has hidden a charm in difficult undertakings, which is appreciated only by those who dare to grapple with them.”
-Anne-Sophie Swetchine, 1869
Ah! Doesn’t this explain it! When we accept a challenge, work through it to the other side, then we understand and appreciate the growth that comes as our reward. It’s easy to shrug off a challenge, to think that it’s too big of a risk, that it could be a waste of our time. But to tackle a challenge, to grapple with it, leads us to a place where we discover just what we are capable of, and that is beautiful.

Daily Tarot: The Fool
The day may be full of confusion but you don’t have to go through it naively and unaware of what’s happening around you. It’s not a good day to flirt with taking silly risks, some of which might turn out to be semi-dangerous or costly. You may be too hyper to want to play it safe, but at least make an effort to not be naïve or irresponsible.
