Inner Journey: FEELING TRAPPED? SLOW DOWN!

“If you’re having difficulty coming up with new ideas, then slow down. For me, slowing down has been a tremendous source of creativity. It has allowed me to open up — to know that there’s life under the earth and that I have to let it come through me in a new way. Creativity exists in the present moment. You can’t find it anywhere else.”
— Natalie Goldberg

Feeling trapped in some way? Give yourself space. Space to do nothing but breathe. To intentionally relax those tight muscles. To just for a few precious minutes, let it all go.

The world will keep turning if you tune out for a short while. And your world will begin to recover its balance.

“It’s important to be heroic, ambitious, productive, efficient, creative, and progressive, but these qualities don’t necessarily nurture soul. The soul has different concerns, of equal value: downtime for reflection, conversation, and reverie; beauty that is captivating and pleasuring; relatedness to the environs and to people; and any animal’s rhythm of rest and activity.”

SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY

“Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Racing through life is very stressful. If we stay in high gear too long, we lose our ability to shift down. And when we’re stressed, we can’t access happiness, appreciation, fun, compassion, generosity, awareness of beauty and other wonderful qualities. High stress also triggers negative emotions like frustration, impatience, anger and fear.
Life has so much to offer if we will slow down and truly experience it. We must always remember that we are the ones in control of the accelerator. We CAN choose to brake.
“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast — you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.”

A Note from the Universe

Worldwide Proclamation!

This is to remind all my loyal subjects that you are not my loyal subjects. And that all the sacrifices, appeasements, and groveling have never been necessary.

I, the Universe – the sun, the moon, and the stars, the Alpha and the Omega, and all the rest – have created a paradise in Time and Space so that I, through you,  might experience its infinite splendors, drink from its every cup, and live, love, and be merry in ways impossible without you.

Your desires, therefore, are my desires for you. Your dreams are my dreams. And so, your wisdom has been added to my own. You are the be-all and end-all of Time and Space, the only reason for this Garden of Eden. You can do no wrong, there are no mistakes, and it’s all good.

Follow your heart, delight in your preferences. Approve of yourself. Stake your claim, demand it, and hold out your hands, expectantly. Banish your doubts, get off of your knees, and live as you please. Because, dearest, you can, and this is all I’ve ever wanted.

Winter

“In a way winter is the real spring, the time when the inner thing happens, the resurge of nature.”

-Edna O’Brien, 1978

In the winter, on the outside, it looks like nothing is happening. The trees are bare. The ground is cold. But growth is taking place. Inside things are happening. We don’t see the results of that growth until the spring, but that doesn’t mean that something wasn’t taking place every moment. The tree is bare, but it is very much living. It’s like when we’re meditating – we look like we’re asleep because on the outside we are still, but major growth is happening on the inside.

Daily Good: In Pursuit of Silence

In this thought-provoking piece, George Prochnick, author of “In Pursuit of Silence”, calls on us to examine our relationship with the sounds, or their absence, around us. Drawing on the wisdom of Herman Melville, Henry David Thoreau, and others, Prochnick proposes that by shutting ourselves off to the noise of our surroundings, we shut ourselves off to the world, effectively losing our place within it. “At some point the inability to ‘hear oneself think,'” he argues, “becomes the inability to think at all.” Read on to learn more about how we can achieve a greater balance between the variety of naturally-sourced and man-made sounds we encounter and the interludes of stillness and silence that beckon our attention. { read more }

Inner Journey:

OVERWHELMED?

“Life does not happen to us, it happens from us.”
— Mike Wickett

Are you easily overwhelmed? If so, answer this question in your journal:

While growing up, what did you experience too much of?

Experiencing too much of something leads to feelings of overwhelm. When we’re young, overwhelm can lead us to believe that we are not capable or that we are not good enough. These are power issues.

Awareness of when we are feeling overwhelmed can help us go inside, claim our power and change our experience of any situation.

“When we know that the cause of something is in ourselves, and that we (ourselves) are one of the few things in the universe that we have the right and ability to change, we begin to get a sense of the choices we really do have, an inkling of the power we have, a feeling of being in charge… of our lives, of our future, of our dreams.”

How do you educate someone when they try to ban all forms of Norse Paganism because they think every Norse Pagan has to be a Nazi or a white supremacist? As cute as the meme of “Odin didn’t die for the Nazis to steal his runes” is, it’s not going sway anyone who only sees Nordic runes or hears Odin or Thor when someone shoots up a Jewish school or shows up in rallies like Charlottesville

Inner Journey:

Slow down

“The soul requires duration of time — rich, thick, deep, velvety time — and it thrives on rhythm. Soul can’t be hurried or harried …. We may go through many events in the day and experience nothing because the soul has not had the opportunity to feel them from many different points of view.”
— Robert Sardello

Soul cannot exist when our connections in life remain superficial. An experience of soul requires that we take time to be fully present to the details of our lives.

Explore what happens when you take the time to STOP and PAY ATTENTION. When we choose to slow down and really experience the qualities of our lives, we get a whole new perspective on what living is all about.

“We must not allow the clock and the calendar to blind us to the fact that each moment of life is a miracle and mystery.”
— H. G. Wells

“The well of Providence is deep. It’s the buckets we bring to it that are small.”

-Sam Keen

Heavy, dark experiences change us. They shake us to our core and cause us to re-evaluate our lives and our values. So, it is understandable that a transformation can come out of that. And sometimes it works the other way around. Sometimes a transformation occurs – maybe we’ve been working on it for a long time but then suddenly there’s a shift – and we need some time and space to assimilate it into our consciousness. We need to see how we can fit our new selves back into our old lives. It can feel like a dark night of the soul – but it’s only temporary. The light shines through.

Thought For the Day: March 22, 2019 “Unplug”

Happy Friday,

After a long week it’s nice to just kick back and chill. Let go of the tension and sensory overload that we have accumulated. One of the best ways to do this is to simply “unplug yourself” for awhile. This helps our brains and bodies to reboot, and helps us to ground and center. Do nothing or do something good for yourself. Take time this weekend to upgrade your perspective, focus and inner peace!

When I Wake Up: Cat’s Angel Message for March 2, 2019

daily Angel Message sms

When I Wake Up: Cat’s Angel Message for March 2, 2019

March Theme: This month carries the energy of the Ascended Masters. We will be working to improve self love, inner peace and overall clarity. These things will help on the path to manifesting our dreams and goals.

I’m always thinking about creating. My future starts when I wake up every morning… Every day I find something creative to do with my life. – Miles Davis

32:  The energy of the Ascended Masters surrounds us this month. Since many of them walked the earth in human form they have a better understanding of the things we face. They know that it is mankind’s enthusiasm and creative energy that produces amazing things. The month of March is also a time of fertility and new growth and these things are produced through our creative side. When allow ourselves the freedom to access our creative mind and energy we find that we are able to open the doors to change and adapt to the gifts it brings. We also find that it helps us to share more of ourselves with others. Embrace new ideas, creative solutions and even those valuable AH-HA moments. Creativity inspires everything that it touches, and creates hope from darkness.

Archangel Jophiel reminds us that goodness and beauty surround us all the time. By keeping ourselves open to receiving these blessings it draws the things we need directly to us. She reminds us that slowing down activates our creative mind and makes these things easier to visualize and grasp. the Ascended Master Vywamus encourages us to continuously and  consciously seek inspiration through the discovery and rediscovery of our own natural abilities and talents. He teaches us that healing can be found in change. If something is holding you back let it go and continue forward. And the Egyptian goddess Isis tells us “Always remember that you are a powerful creator in your own right. When you cloak yourself with dedication and determination you can move the heavens and the earth and create miracles.”

Our Sacred Stone for today is Moonstone, the stone of new beginnings. This beautiful, watery stone helps to navigate the cycles of change and calms our emotions as it gently promotes creative thinking and creative problem solving.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

I invite you to share my work as long as no changes are made and to check out my websites:

We’ve known for a while that social media use is linked to symptoms of depression and loneliness, primarily by causing FOMO-related anxiety (i.e., fear of missing out on experiences with your friends, or at least knowing what everybody’s up to) or by making us constantly compare our lives and bodies to those of random internet people.

Daily Good: K9s for Warriors: Together We Stand

Sometimes it’s not the human who rescues the dog, but the dog who rescues the human. K9s for Warriors, a program based out of Ponte Verda, Florida, was established in 2011 to help soldiers experiencing PTSD and other war trauma disabilities. The dogs are trained to be service dogs and address symptoms in their owners such as anxiety, isolation, depression, and nightmares, often serving in conjunction with traditional treatments like medication and psychotherapy. To date, the program has rescued more than 850 dogs and 440 military service members, with an astounding 99% program success rate. “Service dogs are prescriptions on four legs,” says owner Shari Duvall. MNN: 10 cultural variations on Thanksgiving

Harvest festivals around the globe

Thanksgiving is defined by oversized meals with family or close friends (not to mention football games, parades and other modern additions). Historians still debate the origin of American Thanksgiving, but the most common narrative attributes it to early North American pilgrims, who held feasts to celebrate successful harvests. The concept of celebrating agricultural success dates back much further than the 17th century. Ancient Greeks, South Asians, and Celts all marked harvest holidays.

Patheos-Pagan: Of Light & Shadow: Anubis, God of the Modern Age

I can’t tell you exactly how old I was the first time I encountered Anubis, but I was rather young. I was likely around 5 years old, and it was a chilly, but pleasantly sunny autumn day. My grandfather and I were out on one of our nature walks, this time in a wooded area just a few miles outside of our small town in the Midwest.

Inner Journey:

SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY

“Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

Racing through life is very stressful. If we stay in high gear too long, we lose our ability to shift down. And when we’re stressed, we can’t access happiness, appreciation, fun, compassion, generosity, awareness of beauty and other wonderful qualities.High stress also triggers negative emotions like frustration, impatience, anger and fear.

Life has so much to offer if we will slow down and truly experience it. We must always remember that we are the ones in control of the accelerator. We CAN choose to brake.

“Slow down and enjoy life. It’s not only the scenery you miss by going too fast — you also miss the sense of where you are going and why.”
— Eddie Cantor

Laughter

“A good laugh is sunshine in a house.” -William Makepeace Thackeray

Norman Cousins discovered personally, and wrote eloquently, about the healing power of laughter. Laughter is good medicine. When we laugh, we can’t help but feel good. We feel good around people who laugh, people who enjoy life and can express themselves so freely.

Here’s a little story I heard that might get you giggling:

A wealthy man dies and goes to Heaven. He brings with him all of his earthly belongings when he meets St. Peter at the gate. St. Peter says: “Oh, my… you know, you can’t bring any of that in here.” The man pleads his case, he worked so hard for everything and can’t bear to leave it all behind. Finally St. Peter agrees to discuss the situation with his boss, who says, “Fine, let him bring in just one suitcase.” The man is overjoyed! He goes through everything and loads up one of his largest bags and presents it to St. Peter for inspection. It is filled to the brim with solid gold bars. St. Peter looks at his quizzically and says: “You brought pavement?”

Patheos-Pagan: Personal Development And Self Work Is Utterly Crucial To Spirituality And The Craft

I’ve touched upon this in a number of blog posts, especially in discussing the notions of true will and spiritual journeys, but a number of recent events have necessitated in my spelling this out in black and white: you absolutely, positively cannot get away with being involved in spiritual and/or occult pursuits without putting forth some serious, ongoing effort towards self improvement and self knowledge. This is universal regardless of tradition, practice, or belief.

Inner Journey:

FEELING TRAPPED?

Creativity

“When we are writing, or painting, or composing, we are, during the time of creativity, freed from normal restrictions, and are opened to a wider world, where colors are brighter, sounds clearer, and people more wondrously complex than we normally realize.” -Madeleine L’Engle, (Walking on Water 1980)

A Bountiful Moment

If you know what you want you can find a way to get it. Napoleon Hill

Daily Thought: When you are setting goals make sure you are clear and specific in what you are looking to achieve. By stating that you want to be happy, have more money, be independent are all illusive general goals. Define and be specific about what those general terms mean. Will you be happy if you enter into a healthy relationship? If you make an additional $10,000? Or if you can buy a car? If you make your intentions clear and specific you will achieve them.

Daily Practice: Think of the goals you have set to achieve. Do they need to be made clearer? Think of every single detail about the end goal. Colors, shapes, how you would interact with the goal. What does your end goal look like? The more you can see what you are trying to achieve the better ability your mind has to develop and act on ways to create it. Don’t be afraid to dream big and never give up!

Have a Great Day and Believe in Yourself!

The word “hacking” is popular these days, so consider this a hack for sensitive people dealing with where the Earth is situated relative to Saturn and Pluto.
Note: to be clear, it’s not that the position of the Earth “causes” anything, or that these planets and their positions rain a cascade of “energy” down on us. I have a problem with this, especially when, in dynamic reading consultations that are not informed by the ‘little white book’, the Moon hardly ever points to a type of creativity that’s also constrained, and hence useful.
