The frequency of the incoming energies has increased significantly and is highlighting where we as individuals and as a collective are out of balance within the realms of the mind, our thinking and our consciousness.
Imbolc has always been a guidepost to me. Not only does the day herald the half-way point of winter (Yay, Spring!) and honor Brigid (who I am devoted to), but it is also a time for reset after the many moods of January.
Although traditionally Imbolc is associated with Brighid, the Irish goddess of hearth and home, there are a number of other deities who are represented at this time of year. Thanks to Valentine’s Day, many gods and goddesses of love and fertility are honored at this time.
Imbolc is also known as Candlemas or Brigid’s Day. This point on the wheel of the year focuses on the return of spring. It marks the transformation of the goddess from crone to maiden. Celebrations on this day mark the successful passage through winter and the anticipation of a new agricultural year.

By The Pale Moonlight: The Saining of Brigit – A Ritual For Candlemas (Imbolc)
The important Celtic feast of Candlemas fell in the middle… (February 2nd). It was held to mark the quickening of the year, and was the first of the four ‘cross-quarter days’ on which British witches celebrated their Sabbaths…
3 Pagans And A Cat: Imbolc: Festival of Hearth and Home
I’ll be honest, I’m not feeling the Imbolc vibe this year. It’s hard to imagine Spring arriving any time soon when bitter cold, gray skies, and snow are your current reality. Michigan. So drab in Winter. However, I can get behind the celebration of hearth and home. Warmth. Encouraging anticipation of more hopeful days ahead. So, that is what I’m going to focus on.
In skylore and in Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was a beautiful and vain queen of Ethiopia. It’s said that she committed the sin of pride by boasting that both she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than Nereids, or sea nymphs. Pridefulness, in mythology, is never wise.
Dandelion Lady: The Heart of Fire, an Imbolc Prayer Based upon the Sacred Heart
Imbolc is a time of quiet celebration. It is the letdown holiday after the bright flair of Yule and the importance of Samhain and the ancestors. In my family Imbolc is a time for staying home, doing crafts, and keeping the hearth fire lit, whether it’s kept in a fireplace, on an altar with candles, or using twinkle lights.
“The voice of our original self is often muffled, overwhelmed, even strangled, by the voices of other people’s expectations.” — Julia Cameron
Many of us unconsciously believe that we’re unworthy or defective. We adopted this belief very early in our lives when the people we looked up to disapproved of our demands, wishes and behaviours. We concluded that we had to learn to be good.
Unfortunately, ‘being good’ usually meant giving up our own differences or uniqueness. We learned that we might get the love we wanted if we acted and felt like others wanted us to.
If we seek true joy and connection with life, we now need to remove these artificial masks and express our deep authentic nature.

Some people might say that choice is free will. We exercise our free will by making the choice that we feel is best for us at the time. We always have a choice. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it, but we do. We might need to get creative to see the possibilities, but once we do we see that life is a banquet, it’s like an all-you-can-eat buffet! Choose wisely, choose well.

Lady Brigid, help me to kindle my sacred spark and warm the seeds in my care! ~Cat
_____________________________
22: Good Morning my Little Seedlings, today is Imbolc, Candlemas, the Festival of Light. The Universe is asking us to embrace the faith we have in ourselves and in the new beginnings, this faith brings. Imbolc is a time of renewal and our number for today is one power and purpose. Just like the first signs of spring we push towards the light in an effort to grow. As we reach towards this light our faith empowers us to find fulfillment in achieving our dreams and goals. Don’t force to make things happen. This is another lesson that we can learn from nature. Grow with purpose yet allow things to unfold. By doing so we achieve an overall sense of balance which restores us to harmony. Take time today to reaffirm your faith and where you are on your path as you move into this new cycle. Open your mind and heart and guide your thought seeds toward the light.
Today’s Spirit Helpers include:
The celebration of Imbolc honors the Celtic goddess Brigid. This Triple Goddess of flame and light helps us to purify ourselves and our thoughts. She also promotes inspiration, creativity and the fertility needed to help our thought seeds grow and flourish. She tells us “Today we begin a journey towards the light. Gather the seeds that you have collected and choose the ones that best represent your path. Tell me of your dreams and desires as you plant your seeds within your heart and mind and allow fire and light to fill you. Hope and optimism shine like the sun and like the sun they hold powerful energy. This energy will help you find your way as you nurture the seeds in your care”
Archangel Ariel helps us to embrace our own divine magick which strengthens our manifestation process. Since she works with the earth and environment (nature angels and sprite too) she can help those unfamiliar with the Sacred Feminine work connect with her
The Ascended Master Maitreya (Laughing Buddha) helps us to find peace and harmony through laughter, this gives us a clear perspective and keeps our energy flowing. He tells us that laughter is sacred and when the heart is alive with joy we are connected to the Infinite and filled with Nirvana-essence. Center your mind with the intent of enjoying yourself and you will find yourself centered in the moment. Enjoy what life has to offer and enjoy the process!
Sacred Stones associated with Imbolc include the following:
Amethyst helps us to make decisions by promoting common sense and spiritual insight. It also enables us to set realistic goals and sets us on the road to personal achievement. This crystal is a powerful protector and helps to shield us from unwanted energies while dispelling anxiety and fear. It helps the thought process by providing focus and clearing the way to good decision making.
Bloodstone gives us the ability to adapt to the changes that are taking place more easily. It strengthens our intuition and promotes good decision making. It gets our creativity flowing and infuses our being with courage and vitality.
Carnelian is used for motivation and increased creativity. It teaches us to trust in ourselves and helps us find creative solutions to current issues as it boosts self-esteem and invites us to embrace our personal power while promoting positive life choices which enhance our ability to draw new forms of prosperity and abundance.
Blessings for a magickal day! Cat

If gazing into the sparkling purple depths of an Amethyst suffuses you with a sense of powerful well being, this is only to be expected. The ancient Greeks believed that this gemstone held many powers, among them protection against intoxication. In fact, the word Amethyst comes from the Greek word “amethystos,” meaning sober. In ancient Greece, the gemstone was associated with the god of wine, and it was common practice to serve this beverage from Amethyst goblets in the belief that this would prevent overindulgence. Even today, Amethyst is considered a stabilizing force for those struggling to overcome addictive behaviors.

Daily Wisdom February 1, 2021
Choice “The strongest principle of growth lies in human choice.”
-George Eliot, 1874
We make choices all the time, pretty much every moment of every day. We choose when to get up, what to wear, what to eat. And we make big choices, too – whom to marry, where to live, how to live. Every choice we’ve made up until now has brought us to this point in time. We have learned from our choices, and we have grown. Where do we go from here? It’s our choice.

Patience is something we all have to varying degrees. But when we are trying to make something happen or waiting for something to happen we can become impatient. The best results happen when all the details fall into place. Let things unfold, don’t rush, don’t force. Just breathe and be patient.

Imbolc is the festival of “When the ewes lactate” and is the mid-point of the dark part of the year. Brigid’s fire that she kindled at Yule is now evident in the pregnancy of the herd animals and the fullness of their udders. It also celebrates the waiting bride of the Sun God.
Farm tools are consecrated at this time of year, home fires are put out and relit as are the smithy fires. Both are blessed.
This is the time to make Brigid’s crosses for yourself and for others as protective charms for the home. Brigid’s snake emerges from the Earth Mothers womb to see what the weather will be– if this sounds familiar, it should as this is the origin of Groundhogs Day!
If you made a corn dollie for Lughnasadh, you should make a Brides bed the evening of Feb 1st. She should be dressed in white or blue and placed in a basket near the hearth. The Celts would toss nuts into the basket as fertility symbols.
Lighting of a Candle Wheel ( an evergreen wreath that hold candles) as a form of sympathetic magick to lure the God back to us.
**Note ** As with any ritual using candles please use caution and never leave them unattended.

131: Love and peace. Sounds like a 60’s revival doesn’t it? These words are just as important today (maybe even more so) as they were then and every living thing is touched by them. Don’t lose sight of the things that really matter and do your best to keep spreading love and peace. Today the universe is asking us to end the month with a shift of thought. By lifting ourselves to a higher level of love and peace we are able to see things more clearly as we become more energetically empowered. Remember, what you send out comes back so this is a great day to share this loving and peaceful energy or by simply offering a prayer for a friend or loved one who needs it, for the world, the earth or even for yourself!

This is a reminder that slowing down activates our creative mind and makes these things easier to visualize and grasp and by taking the time to “smell the roses” the attitude of gratitude flows more easily.
The Ascended Master Sanat Kumara teaches us that we have an unlimited supply of personal power and helps us find the energy we need to keep going and rise above negative experiences and thought patterns. This gives us the skills we need to strengthen our personal boundaries so that we can be and stay strong in situations where we need to be.
The Egyptian Goddess Nuit (Nut) represents the sky and the cosmos. She is a mother goddess, a life-giver. She teaches us the importance of nurturing those in our care with patience and love. As a cosmic goddess she reminds us of our divine place in the Universe and while we may feel small and insignificant the truth is far different. She says” Rejoice in your own power. It is love and patience that allow you to shape the world and make you a creator in your own right. You do not need to have born a child to be a mother this essence lives within all.
