The earth is waking at the voice of May,
The new grass brightens by the trodden way,
The woods wave welcome to the sweet spring day,
And the sea is growing summer blue.
-Elizabeth Akers Allen (1832-1911)
The Wild Hunt: People make offerings to Tutu Pelé as the lava flows
HAWAII — While a Hawaiian volcano continues to spew forth destruction on one Hawaiian island, many forget that it was this same activity that created all the Hawaiian Islands. Destruction transforms into creation. The Hawaiian goddess, Tutu Pelé (Madame Pele) lives in, or is, the Kilauea Volcano. She has become one of the most well-known […] Read More:
MBG: 4 Steps To Manifesting Abundance When You’re Always Worried About Not Having Enough
Why do we work so hard every day? To live an abundant, happy life in which all our financial needs are met. But when working harder and longer hours isn’t being reflected back to us in our bank balance, we need to look at our mindset about money.
Elephant Journal: How Energy Healing helped me Discover who I am & Create a Life I Love.
Who else has ever felt disconnected from themselves and their lives—like something is wrong, or they’re not quite whole?
It’s common for many of us, especially those who were raised to follow others’ expectations regarding what we should do with our lives.
I used to feel this way.

Patheos-Pagan: Searing Sun, the Hurricane’s Howl: What Can We Do About Climate Change?
When we think of the Divine in Nature, we think of nature’s beauty – the green earth and the white moon among the stars – but nature can be frightening as well as beautiful. Our ancestors venerated nature because they feared as well as loved it, because they knew they were totally dependent on something more powerful than themselves. In contemporary Pagan rituals, we domesticate the elements.
TIME TO CHANGE DIRECTION?
“Employ the power of positive quitting. Most of us view quitting as something negative, but it’s not. ‘Winners never quit,’ we’re told, when, in reality, winners quit all the time: choosing to stop doing things that aren’t creating the results they desire. When you quit all the things that aren’t working for you, when you quit tolerating all the negative things that hold you back, you’ll create a positive ‘charge’ in your life as well as create the space in your life for more positive experiences.”
— Jim Allen
“I like thinking of possibilities. At any time, an entirely new possibility is liable to come along and spin you off in an entirely new direction. The trick, I’ve learned, is to be awake to the moment.”
— Doug Hall
“Persons and societies do not submit passively to surroundings and events. They make choices as to the places where they live and the activities in which they engage — choices based on what they want to be, to do and to become. Furthermore, persons and societies often change their goals and ways; they can even retrace their steps and start in a new direction if they believe they are on a wrong course. Thus, whereas animal life is prisoner of biological evolution which is essentially irreversible, human life has the wonderful freedom of social evolution which is rapidly reversible and creative. Wherever human beings are concerned, trend is not destiny.”
— Rene Dubos

“I believe in freedom – social, economical, domestic, political, mental and spiritual.” -Elbert Hubbard
Freedom is all-encompassing; you can’t have one “kind” of freedom without all the others. I remember Deepak Chopra talking about the 25 qualities of the Unified Field. Scientists have studied this Field, which could also be called “all of nature,” and identified 25 qualities that it has. Because we are one with this Field, these are qualities inherent in each of us, too. Number 24 on the list: Freedom.
Beliefnet: The 7 Greatest Strengths of an Introvert
What others might call weakness is an introvert’s greatest strength.
If you’re an introvert, it can seem like the world just isn’t built for you. From the very beginning, others have tried to change you, telling you to “come out of your shell” so that you can get the most out of life.
But, as an introvert, you know that some of the greatest pleasures of life come from within. What others take for shyness, you know to be thoughtfulness.
