Cat’s Morning Bits for April 24, 2019
Good Morning Beautiful Souls, grab a cup of your favorite morning brew and start things off with “Today’s Inspirations”. I hope you find something here that will make you feel good or help you on your path today.
April brings the primrose sweet,
Scatters daisies at our feet.
-Sara Coleridge (1802-52)
Spirit Library: We are prisoners of our perception and not of TIME!
Our lives are run by ideas that we hold allegiance to, ideas that institute restrictions in the human experience. We are run by dos, don’ts and suggestions of impossibilities. What is seldom realized is that we live a life of suggestions. Suggestions that have however been established as law in the human experience.
ThoughtCo: Disposal of Ritual Offerings
A common question that comes up is the matter of how to dispose of offerings made during a ritual once the ritual has concluded. Disposal methods may vary, depending on a few things. For instance, does your particular magical tradition require you to dispose of offerings in a certain way? Also, what is the offering?
MBG: Feng Shui Energy Shifts You Can Try Today Without Spending A Fortune
When you hear about feng shui, it might conjure thoughts of statues, fountains, mountains of crystals, and, possibly, the need for a complete home renovation.
Coffey Talk: Free As A Bird
One of my very favorite books of all time is “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach. This book was first published in 1970, and it has held up to the test of time, it is a true classic. If you’ve never experienced this beautiful story, it is a must-have for your home library. If you’ve read it before, read it again.
I can’t even count how many times I’ve read it, and gotten something more out of it each time. I have such an affinity for seagulls because of this wonderful little book! Jonathan is an example for each of us, to follow our dreams, to strive to do better, to be true to ourselves. The book includes amazing photography by Russell Munson.
While working on a talk about this book I discovered that Richard Bach recently found his original last chapter, which was never published! He has now added it to the “Complete Edition” version of the book.
Elephant Journal: 8 Ground Rules for Better Emotional Self-Care.
As a thinking, feeling human, I’ve made a discovery.
Yes, self-care is important.
However, the self-care it seems we really need isn’t just regular exercise, drinking smoothies, and getting massages.
What I’m talking about is emotional self-care because basically, life is hard.
MNN: Synchronized fireflies gather for a ‘rave’ in the Great Smoky Mountains
Every June, Elkmont Ghost Town — an abandoned resort ghost town in Great Smoky Mountains National Park — lights up with the world’s largest gathering of Photinus carolinus, a species of firefly that is famous for its synchronous flashing behavior.
Inspired by these twinkling insects, photographer Harun Mehmedinovic uses his surreal time-lapse techniques to carefully document the insects’ “odd forest rave party” in a short film.
EarthSky News: Moon and Saturn to meet in morning sky
On the mornings of April 24, 25 and 26, 2019, watch the moon as it travels away from the king planet Jupiter and toward the ringed planet Saturn. Although Saturn is easily visible to the eye alone, you need a telescope to view its majestic rings.
Patheos-Pagan: The Magical Spice Rack: How To Work With The Correspondences In Your Cupboards
I plunder my cupboards for my magical works so much that my “magical spice rack” has become a cliche. It’s a cliche for a good reason, though. My spice rack and tea cabinet always have the perfect ingredients for my spellwork. Do you need a pinch of heat in your magic? Sprinkle in some cayenne pepper. Need some more comforting aspects in your spell? Grab a lavender tea bag, and rip that baby open.

A Note from the Universe
Of course the most deceptive of all illusions is very likely space.
You know, that thing between “here” and “there” that would have you see yourself alone, instead of as the bridge between them.
That medium between you and the rest of the world that disguises your role in creating it.
You know, that veil through which the physical senses must explore your chiseled secrets.
See? Aliens are the least of your worries…

“You can’t always get what you want.
But if you try sometimes,
You just might find
You get what you need.”
-Mick Jagger and Keith Richards song, 1969
It usually takes something to motivate us to make that effort. It’s like we begin with the end in mind – that’s our goal, what we are working towards. But along the way, things might change. We certainly change and grow from the experience – and maybe that’s just what we really need. We can find some of the most amazing spiritual messages in our own music. Are we listening?
Beliefnet: 7 Things That Happen When You Take Responsibility For Your Life
Too many of us simply drift through our lives, allowing fate to take us where it may. But a life without commitment is a life wasted, and so it’s important to live on purpose, and to make intentional choices every single day.
