The Blessings of Spring: Cat’s Angel Message for March 20, 2019

March Theme: This month carries the energy of the Ascended Masters. We will be working to improve self love, inner peace and overall clarity. These things will help on the path to manifesting our dreams and goals.

Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!” – Robin Williams

320:  Today is Ostara, The Vernal Equinox and the first day of Spring! The Universe are reminding us about faith. Sometimes our faith is like the Winter season where things seem barren, empty or even hopeless. We see no results to our prayers or requests. Then all of a sudden we see new beginnings and new growth, just like what happens in the Spring time. Embrace this new season and see things with a fresh, new perspective. Believe with all your being that even though the results you want are not yet visible the Universe is working behind the scenes, wheels are turning and things are falling into place.

Today we honor the goddesses of Spring like Brigid (the maiden), Freya, Olwen, Blodewedd, Eostre, Persephone/Kore, or Cordielia. Spend some time outside today and look for the new growth that symbolizes rebirth and hope. The Welsh goddess Cordelia is a deity of nature and  Spring is her season.  She  reminds us that every season has it’s own unique beauty and healing energy. Embrace joy today to help you to escape stress and let go. “Healing can be found in nature. Allow the beauty that surrounds you to renew your spirit and fill your soul with pure joy.”

To honor this new season try using one of the following Sacred Stones and to promote Spring’s essence within.  Tree Agate (Dendritic) to strengthen your connection to the plant kingdom and help you to enjoy each moment. Green Aventurine promotes healing and infuses us with harmony as it balances yin/yang energy. Chrysoprase fills us with the sense of being a part of the divine plan and brings hope and personal insight. Moonstone helps us to see the new beginnings as they happen and Sunstone helps us to connect to the light and promotes a  joyous spirit.

Bright blessings for a magickal day!

I invite you to share my work as long as no changes are made and to check out my websites:

Ostara Walks (original poetry)

Ostara Walks

Ostara Walks

Ostara walks in beauty, Ostara walks in hope

She is the dawn of springtime, and brings the world rebirth;

On gentle breeze her name is sung,  and nature is her choir.

Ostara walks in beauty, Ostara walks in joy

Her mantle is the new green grass, unfolding from the earth;

Laughter floating on the air, light and silver shining.

Ostara walks in beauty, Ostara walks in grace

Unselfishly she shares her gifts, they heal the human soul;

Winters death is banished, it’s a time for rebirth and growth.

Compassion

“It is the experience of touching the pain of others that is the key to change… Compassion is a sign of transformation.”

-Jim Wallis

Compassion is not limited to the human experience. Although, as intelligent beings, we can understand and express compassion and extend comfort to one another. My friend Maryanne sent me an article about a herd of elephants who appeared to be mourning one of their own who had died. They cried. I don’t know if elephants can understand with their minds just what they were experiencing, but they certainly were able to understand with their hearts. And we can empathize with them, we can project our own feelings of loss onto this situation and learn and grow from it.

A Bountiful Moment

Always be yourself because the people that matter don’t mind, and the ones who mind, don’t matter. Dr, Seuss

Daily Thought: Never be afraid to act upon your wildest dreams and desires. Live loud and proud! Being who you are takes courage so always remember that the people who are most important will never be unkind in their judgement of what you are thinking. The individuals who offer support, encouragement and a perspective of “you can but be on the lookout for” are the only individuals who should be a factor in what you do and what you are planning to act on.

Daily Practice: Take an objective look at your current relationships. Who are they with and how are they serving you? If they are critical and make you question yourself in a negative way they are most likely a relationship that needs boundaries. If they are relationships that are honest and allow you to be who you are without judgement take the opportunity to develop them and use them as a sounding board for your growth.

Inner Journey: Going for guilt-free play

“There is no pleasure in having nothing to do. The fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.”
— Mary Little

When you’re tempted with a promise of pleasure, does guilt promptly spoil it for you?

For many of us, the work ethic still rules supreme. It keeps our life out of balance and our health at risk. There will always be lots of work to do. We can’t wait for it to go away to enjoy ourselves.

Today, we invite you to become aware of your attitude towards rest, relaxation, pleasure and fun. When you give yourself a break, do you carry guilt through it? Deep down, do you believe that you don’t deserve to have a good time, that you haven’t earned a holiday? If you do discover these thoughts, send them packing.

A Bountiful Moment

There is a solution to every problem

Daily Thought: Every problem encountered will go through stages to resolution. 1. The problem occurs and appears as overwhelming and insurmountable. 2. The problem becomes less chaotic and devastating and more about the solution. 3. A solution is thought about and a plan is developed. 4. The solution is acted upon. 5. The problem becomes less relevant the status quo returns. Always remember no matter what the problem is there is always a solution.

Daily Practice: Make sure you don’t get stuck or that you are not stuck in a problem cycle. Look at your daily functioning and life situations and determine if you have become stalled without implementing a solution to a problem. Make sure you are always moving forward in your life momentum whether the problems you encounter take one plan of action or multiple plans to overcome.

Inner Journey: Contemplate Unity

“Poverty is in separatism. Abundance is in unity.”
— Torkom Saraydarian

Watch for those times when you perceive yourself to be separate from the rest of the world. When you find yourself feeling uncomfortable, threatened or isolated, remember Neale Donald Walsch’s words: “there’s only one of us in this room.”

When we perceive differences in thinking and behaving, we might remember that these are merely different expressions of the one universal life force. We can release judgment as to whether those differences are right or wrong or good or bad. We can drop the labels that divide the world into pieces, and simply appreciate the rich variety of ways that energy can manifest as form.

“If we are to achieve a rich culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place.”

Inner Journey: Slow down

“The soul requires duration of time — rich, thick, deep, velvety time — and it thrives on rhythm. Soul cant be hurried or harried …. We may go through many events in the day and experience nothing because the soul has not had the opportunity to feel them from many different points of view.”
— Robert Sardello

Soul cannot exist when our connections in life remain superficial. An experience of soul requires that we take time to be fully present to the details of our lives.

Explore what happens when you take the time to STOP and PAY ATTENTION. When we choose to slow down and really experience the qualities of our lives, we get a whole new perspective on what living is all about.

If March comes in like a lion, it will go out
like a lamb.
If March comes in like a lamb, it will go out
like a lion.

-old weather saying

Our first Full Moon of March (yes we have 2 this month) will be the Storm Moon (medieval england). It was most likely named that probably due to the fact that March is known to have some major storms caused by earth changes brought about as spring approaches. The weather saying above is an old one and you have probably heard someone use at one time or another. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac ” Some skywatchers believe that there’s a heavenly connection. The constellation Leo, the lion, is rising in the east at the beginning of March, hence the “comes in like a lion,” while Aries, the ram, sets in the west at the end of March, and so “will go out like a lamb.” Other names for this moon are Fish Moon (colonial america), Sleepy Moon (china), Windy Moon (cherokee), Big Famine Moon (choctaw), When Eyes Are Sore From Bright Snow Moon (dakota), Moon of Winds (celtic), Palolo Worm Moon (new guinnea), Full Sap Moon ( for tapping the maple trees), Full Crow Moon (the northern indian tribes said that the cawing of the crows meant winter was ending), and the old settlers called it the Lenten Moon and considered it the last full moon of winter. The Storm Moon of March is the herald of Ostara, Spring and new beginnings. Winters snow will soon give way to spring rain. The first of the seasons new growth is already showing, the days are longer and the Sun is climbing higher in the sky. So too are we experiencing new beginnings and growth. The time has come to clean and prune away the old debris that keeps us from moving forward. This much needed inner spring cleaning provides us with a new outlook and helps us to bloom, even during difficult times. Magical workings, meditations and healing should focus on personal growth and rebirth during this moon. To enhance your energy try  wearing the colors of spring, greens, yellows or lavender and adorn yourself with aquamarine, bloodstone, quartz crystal or jade. Use the scents of honeysuckle and apple blossom to create springs essence of hope and vibrancy to your altar, home or workspace. Bright Blessings! Cat

Cat’s Aimless Ramblings: Desert Wisdom

Quote

The desert is an amazing place. In just a few short weeks it has gone from barren to full of life. Spring is short and the flowers will make the most of it before the hot, dry season ahead. Today there is a riot of color ,red, pink, purple, fuchsia and white,  among the green of rabbitbrush and the grey-green of sagebrush. The birds are out enjoying this breezy spring day as well and the air is filled with song. Horned larks zip from shrub to shrub and meadowlarks, my personal omen of spring, call to each other across the wash. Suddenly there is a chuck-chuck and a flock of Chukar race across the road, orange high tops flashing as they make for the safety of the tall grass. The big boys are out too. A golden eagle glides the currents above the Bookcliffs, almost motionless at times. A pair of red tailed hawks are cruising over Dogtown and for a time the prairie dogs are silent. A tiny kessler hawk passes us with a frowning eye as if he thinks that we have invaded his territory………maybe we have.

Very soon with the arrival of summer all of this green will disappear. While the rabbitbrush and sage hold their color the rest change to shades of brown. They have not died it’s more of a stasis than anything else. They patiently wait and hold their reserves close. Doling them out as needed, setting boundaries if you will, with the changing environment around them. The animals adapt as well making changes in their routines to best meet their needs for survival. The similarities between man and nature are obvious to those who allow themselves to truly see.

There are lessons to be learned here as well. The desert teaches us to be patient and observant.  It teaches us about adapting to whatever life throws at us and it invites us to expand our focus to encompass the whole picture and not just the pieces we want to see. It ask us to see the beauty that surrounds us but also be willing to see the hidden beauty that reside in all things. And lastly that everything has it’s season, whether it’s long or short,  and that nothing lasts forever.

Each visit to this sacred place, my sacred place leaves me in awe. It fills my heart with peace and cleanses my spirit. It is my hope that whomever reads these humble words has a place or finds a place like this in which to go and be healed.

Adventure on my friends!
