914:  Like any good friend the Universe and it’s helpers are always here to help us.  We can ask any questions and make any request. This starts the ball rolling and when we do our part by adding our energy to that of our divine friends things begin to happen.  The key is in remembering that the wheels are always turning and the assistance we need is always there. Today we are being asked to maintain a positive focus on our goals and to have faith particularly in the areas that are most important to us and that we are currently working on.   Remember to have patience as sometimes things don’t move as quickly as we would like. Divine Right Timing always plays a part and when we are ready on all levels things will naturally fall into place.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac calls this moon the Full Corn Moon however in the Pagan Traditions it is called the Harvest Moon.


Many of the Native American tribes’ staple foods, such as corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and rice, were ready for harvesting during this month. The strong light of the Harvest Moon allowed European farmers to work late into the night to harvest their crops which is where the name came from. This moon does not always occur in September and traditionally, the name goes to the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, the Harvest Moon sometimes happens in September and sometimes in October.


Other names for this moon are Chrysanthemum Moon (china), Nut Moon (Cherokee), Mulberry Moon (Choctaw), Singing Moon (Celtic), and Barley Moon (medieval English).


As Mother Earth begins her journey into the dark part of the year, the sun pulls away and we get that welcome autumn chill. September is a time of hearth and home as well as a time to acknowledge the things that we have accomplished since spring.


Now is also a great time to unclutter our homes and selves as we prepare to enter the season of introspection and if you are a  Kitchen Witch it’s a good time to reestablish your Hearth / Kitchen altar!


To get in the autumn mood and celebrate this month’s element of earth try wearing browns, greens, and other earthy colors.

Just like the Angels and the Ascended Masters the Sacred Feminine/ Goddess can also help us with our life’s journey. Her energy is warm and comforting and can be easily felt simply being outdoors. The Sacred Feminine/Goddess is assisting us today by sharing her loving energy. I know it doesn’t seem like it with all of the turmoil we are currently experiencing but to me her message is clear:

Today’s Recipe:  Cheesy Chorizo and Apple Scramble


I made this up today when I realized I had next to nothing in the kitchen. Last week, the grocery store was giving away free tubes of chorizo. I rarely say no to free things, even when it’s something I don’t utilize too much. I always find chorizo to be a bit overpowering in spice and saltiness, so I thought evening it out with some chopped apple would aid it. It was perfect! The sweetness of the apple was a great balance for this breakfast treat. I added little squares of the last tortilla I had in the fridge to make it come together like a taco. It was so very good!

I had to put these two quotes together because both of these two women showed such courage. They both saw the “big picture” and understood their role in it. Although these events happened centuries apart, one could say that they were destined. Things could not have continued the way that they were going, and each of these women had a part in changing things. They could have backed down or shied away from it – but instead they chose to step up and be where they were, where they felt they were “supposed” to be.

Sometimes a walk with Mother Nature is the best remedy.  When you get that cooped up feeling or feel like things are closing in on you try spending a little time outdoors. Sunshine is a wonderful mood booster, wind clears the mind and the senses, walking barefoot helps to ground your energy as does water.  Spending time outside will be perfect addition to your self care regimen.
